SINGAPORE The communist regime in China has established more than 100 police stations globally for surveillance of its citizens based overseas. Occasionally, these police stations rely on bilateral security arrangements with African and European countries to repatriate Chinese citizens living in exile. According to Madrid-based non-governmental organization (NGO) Safeguard Defenders, China has set up 48 more police stations overseas since the NGO first uncovered 54 such stations in September 2022. This brings the total number of Chinese-run police stations to 102 across 53 countries.
