Innovative Consultants LLC has had to lay off 287 call center employees from its Houston office after losing a contract, according to the Texas Workforce Commission.
In a letter to the TWC dated Feb. 9, the company wrote that the layoffs at its 5373 West Alabama office in Houston were a result of “an unexpected reduction of work from our biggest customer.”
The majority of the layoffs affected hourly workers.
The company also wrote in its letter that it “hopes to secure replacement work and/or to have the contract reinstated.”
Newark, Del.-based Innovative Consultants provides contact center services for a variety of industries including financial services, insurance, telecommunications, technology, health care and media.
