Conservative members of Congress are pushing using the upcoming fiscal 2023 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) to repeal the U.S. armed forces Covid vaccine mandate and reinstate service members who were discharged because of it. On November 30, 13 U.S. Senators signed a letter addressed to Republican Senate leadership declaring their opposition to passing the NDAA unless a vote is held on an amendment to repeal the mandate and reinstate the discharged service members. That same day, 21 governors signed a letter, addressed to Republican and Democratic leaders in the House and Senate, calling for the mandates repeal.
