Deadly New Pathogens will Again Appear Beware Flesh and Brain Eaters in the Water The COVID-19 plague, part of last plague # 5, appears to be coming to an end in the U.S., but there are still numerous cases of long COVID and still about 120,000 COVID deaths per year. So, its still around, especially in China, and there is always the threat of another mutation.
Even if COVID-19 is on the decline, as is skin cancer (plague #1), some other new diseases have appeared of late.
There is Monkey Pox which, like the first new disease (AIDS), is spread by direct contact and mainly afflicts homosexual men. (It appeared as soon as doctors announced a vaccine for AIDS that sends it into remission). M.P. is very ugly, but not as deadly as AIDS.
There is RSV, a respiratory illness similar to COVID-19, which mainly affects young children and old people, and sometimes results in death. (Being old, your author has already received a vaccine and I urge others to do the same).
There are also some deadly water-borne diseases (a combination of plagues 3 & 5). There is a deadly brain-eating amoeba that lurks in stagnant warm water, mostly in southern states. It has twice been found in the New Orleans water supply, and last year in Lake Jacksons water supply. It is contracted when water goes up your nose either from gargling or water sports.
There is also a flesh-eating bacteria that lurks in the Gulfs coastal waters, and sometimes in hospitals. It is antibiotic resistant and can be fatal if not caught early. The infected limb often must be amputated. We can look forward to most of the plagues being mitigated by 2030, which marks the 2000th anniversary of the resurrection of Christ. Barry Midyet
