In any case, we should not be impeaching Presidents because we dislike them. You impeach them for grave crimes. No President in our history deserved to be impeached. However, Clintoon gave the Chinese American nuclear technology, he allowed the Hughes Corporation, and the Loral Corporation to solve their problems, improved their guidance systems, and gave the Chinese MIRV technology, and Clintoon took money from the Chinese and both corporations, and he allowed Chinese agents into American facilities ( Los Alamos )and did nothing while they were stealing American tech. All of which allowed the Chinese missile program to advance from primitive firecrackers to a advanced nuclear threat ! Those sound like damn good reasons Clintoon should have been impeached ! To: Mudboy Slim (#8) I/m not. I'm a constitutionalist. The constitution is not a toy for partisans to play with. You don't impeach presidents because you hate their politics; it takes real Spiro Agnew type crimes. Andrew Johnson did break the law, though for a constitutional reason. Should he have been impeached? Probably not. Ruchard Nixon was not impeached, but the threat was there, for the Watergate break in (which he didn't authorize) and the cover up, which he actively participated in. Should he have been impeached for that? Probabaly not. It's too small beer. Clinton was impeached for a BJ. Ridiculous. And China policy is within the purview of the President to set. There is no "master policy" above the President and above everybody, which lets you impeach officials for violating some "ultimate truth" about the United States. No! The truth is, the President sets foreign policy. To impeach him over foreign policy because you don't like the policy, or him, turns us into a banana republic. Both impeachments of Trump were of that caliber, and were absolute jokes. Impeachment is not just a way of removing a political opponent because you have the power to do it. Or maybe that's what it has become now, but if that's so, our republic is immeasurably weakened by such utterly petty and short-sighted policy. The people elect the President. They can throw him out in four years if they don't like the policy. That's it. To impeach him takes SERIOUS crime. A difference of political opinion about foreign nations is not a crime AT ALL, and impeachment should never be even talked about for that. Now, impeachment is just a matter of having the votes. The public held the Republicans responsible at the polls for impeaching Clinton, but they did not hold the Democrats responsible for impeaching Trump, twice! Maybe they will this November.
