This woman got dragged on tiktok and was called transphobic because she shared her story of deciding not to transition to male pic.twitter.com/NCEJoqdbkS — Libs of Tik Tok (@libsoftiktok) February 23, 2022 “I was going to start testosterone today,” said the Tiktoker, Maya. “I was going to start transitioning into being a male, but i had a major epiphany the other day and I came to the realization that i was not transgender.” “I devoted so many years to trying to convince myself that i was a male—but I realized that I wasn’t.” The Libs of Tik Tok Twitter account has stated that Maya has been called “transphobic” for not wanting to transition, receiving comments like, “Everyone with a brain knows that you don’t think hormones should be accessible, stop dodging the question and fess up about your views.” (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Subsequent videos posted by Maya give insight into her condition. When asked if she felt like she was being forced or pushed into the hormonal sex change, she explained that years of therapy encouraged her to go in that direction: “I wouldn’t say pushed or forced but i was encouraged,” she explained. “I didn’t really know what gender dysphoria was until I went to therapy for my eating disorder.” She said that therapists introduced her to gender dysphoria and encouraged her to continue down that line of thinking. Those who are asking for more government interference are asking ultimately for more compulsion and less freedom.
