Magog, Mesech and Tubal are three of the seven named sons of Japheth. If you are referring to the Prophet Joel of the Bible, no, Gog was not the son of that Joel, who was the son of Pethuel. Gog was the son of Joel, who was the son of Hanoch, Reuben's firstborn.
