Poll: The More People Hear From Sarah Palin The Less They Want To Elect Her

Is it possible that Sarah Palin’s new job as a Fox News analyst is working against her? There’s been much chatter lately that as a possible 2012 presidential candidate her position at the cable giant is inappropriate and gives her an unfair advantage. Not so, according to George Will who writes this in his column today:

Conservatives, who rightly respect markets as generally reliable gauges of consumer preferences, should notice that the political market is speaking clearly: The more attention Palin receives, the fewer Americans consider her presidential timber. The latest Post-ABC News poll shows that 71 percent of Americans — including 52 percent of Republicans — think she is not qualified to be president.

Having transcribed a number of Sarah Palin’s statements in recent weeks I can’t say this comes as a shock. That said, don’t panic Palin fans, Will hasn’t done a sudden turnabout on Palin (by a long stretch…he actually applauds her “grit”) he does, however, say that the only way she will get the nod in 2012 is if Republicans collectively decide that they want to lose the election.

Yet Sarah Palin, who with 17 months remaining in her single term as Alaska’s governor quit the only serious office she has ever held, is obsessively discussed as a possible candidate in 2012. Why? She is not going to be president and will not be the Republican nominee unless the party wants to lose at least 44 states.

What Will doesn’t discuss is whether Palin is less interested in making a run for the White House than running a third party candidacy, which would afford her all the attention and none of the responsibility.

I saw this posted at Goldi's dump and decided to post it here, since the likelihood of it surviving there 'till morning is about zero.

BullBarack. Whoever gets the nod to run against Bubba Barry wins. This includes Palin. If she runs with the blessings of the RNC,she wins.

If he's that weak, the Dems will replace him first. Hillary Clinton comes to mind.

The Democrats thought the same in 2004, as did the GOP in 1996.

No,they won't. They have made the classic mistake of "hiring" somebody they can't fire. If they dump him, they lose their black base, and without all the black votes and voter fraud that can't be questioned for PC reasons, any other candidate they would run would lose.

And then they ran the only man Boy Jorge COULD beat. Somebody even the other Dims have nothing but contempt for.

as did the GOP in 1996.

Bob Dolt? The "tax collector for the welfare state"? The Senate majority leader that refused to allow the vote for repeal of the so-called Assault Weapons Ban to be voted on even though the votes were there to repeal it because he didn't want to risk losing Dim voters?

And yet people STILL think this isn't a fixed game!

Sarah Palin (like Teddy Kennedy could never have been) will never be elected POTUS. She's damaged goods.

In the farce that passes for political theater however, she will be the anti-Teddy. Teddy, if you recall, was the best fundraiser the GOP had in the late 70s and early 80s. You could always count on his stupid face adorning millions of letters - "Elect republicans or Teddy will eat your young".

Sarah likewise will raise millions for the demwits. I'm sure she's already started.

Day after day,
Alone on a hill,
The man with the foolish grin is keeping perfectly still
But nobody wants to know him,
They can see that he's just a fool,
And he never gives an answer,
But the fool on the hill

If you look at GOP history they almost always nominate the previous year's also-ran. That's my bet is on Mitt Romney in 2012.

Whats more important? Alleged Palin decreasing poll numbers? Or Owe-Bama's as a first term President?

The answer is obvious, just as the intent of this is obvious.

Sorry, but I've got to disagree with you on that. The black base will vote 90-95% Democrat no matter what. They could always run Al Sharpton as VP to sooth any sore feelings.

my bet is on Mitt Romney in 2012

I have no doubt that's who the RINO's at the top of the heap want. After all, they are all elitists from the northeast, just like he is. He's one of them.

Not to mention he has Presidential Hair. Never underestimate the value of Presidential Hair to the undecided voters. That doesn't change the fact that Palin is out there working hard to convince them that even though she isn't from a prominent northeastern family with political connections that she can be trusted to do the "right thing" if she gets the nod,and they would happily settle for her if they can't crown Romney.
