He lived from about January 2010 until 10-25-2021. He will be missed by family and friends, and especially my daughter who loved him. He was a dog that was always loyal. I will miss seeing him sitting on the back porch. He was a blue heeler. Secondly, the soul of the dog will be around you for a little while, you may hear the dog even though it has died, this is based on experience of many dog owners. I am speaking as a buddhist, you don't have to believe me, but I do feel I have to tell you that all living being have souls and that's why we don't kill human or animals. If you took good care of the dog it will come back and love you back in the next life time, that's how karma works. To: watchman (#3) Yes I am a vegetarian and I also have Catholic and Buddhist friends who are vegetarians. How is it decided? That depends on what you do, if you don't behave then you lose your human form. Animals can also be reborn as human again, if they do good things, such as saving lives. Same thing with gender selection, those who have a lot of merits (do a lot of goods, charity, saving lives) get to be reborn as male, but other factors are at work too, it's not a simple equation, but in general what and who you are today was decided by your own actions in your previous life(lives). Every action has consequece, for example those politicians voting to allow abortion effectively kill millions of lives so they will be punished accordingly and in their next lifetimes (many lifetimes) they will also suffer.
