"Accord Made Possible By Capitulation--Clinton's" "Accord Made Possible By Capitulation--Clinton's" Editor, Times-Dispatch: People who have tuned in to any of the networks over the past few days have no doubt been treated to any number of stories celebrating Bill Clinton's great military victory over Yugoslavia, as well as his supposed political victory over those who have questioned the advisability of his ruthless attacks on a sovereign nation that has never threatened our national interests. Does the Leftist Media even believe their own spin?!! Are they as corrupt as Clinton, or just plain IGNORANT?!! After two months of indiscriminately slaughtering innocent Kosovar Albanians and Serbs alike, destroying the infrastructure of a sovereign nation, and expending a substantial portion of our already-depleted weapons cache, the G-8 deal Slobodon Milosevic apparently has accepted is almost exactly the same as the one we could have had prior to Clinton's commencement of the bloodshed. By all accounts, the Rambouillet Accords the administration tried to force down the throats of the Yugoslavian leadership were acceptable to Slobo with two major exceptions. First, the occupying force Clinton wanted to install in Kosovo had to be NATO-led, while Slobo insisted that the peacekeepers be UN-led. The difference is critical, as a UN-led force would be monitored by the U.N. Security Council, on which both Russia and China have veto authority; while a NATO-led force would answer directly to Slick Willie. The second major disagreement related to the future of Kosovo as a province of Yugoslavia, where the U.S./Kosovo Liberation Army contingent demanded a plebiscite in three years, which would allow the ethnic Albanians to secede and form their own Islamic state--while Milosevic insisted that Kosovo remain part of greater Yugoslavia. The ugly truth the Clinton cheerleaders in the media refuse to publicize is that the G-8 agreement includes a UN-led peace-keeping force, and no provision for Kosovar Albanian independence. Make no mistake about it, the capitulation required to reach an agreement in the Clinton/Milosevic negotiations was much more Clinton's than it was Slobo's--and the two- month massacre was a huge waste of money, weaponry, lives, and American prestige! "Here is what I got from Uncle George: My most vivid memory associated with the American flag flashes back to Korea and a gray, clammy day in early August 1953. The Korean War had come to an end a week earlier, on July 27 at precisely 10 p.m. I remember lying in a rice paddy and suddenly experiencing the thunderous, deafening silence of peace. The Chinese and North Koreans, surely as joyful as I, were singing and raising their flags less than two hundred yards away from where my platoon sergeant and I sat smoking celebratory cigars. A military spotlight, affectionately referred to as "Moonbeam Charlie," played along the valley floor and crept up the scarred hills, catching the Chinese and North Koreans in spirited dancing around their outpost flagpole. Their flags seemed to mean something to them, and at that time, I wasn't sure what my flag meant to me. But that changed dramatically a week later, when I was a part of a contingent sent to represent my regiment at "Freedom Village." "Operation Big Switch" was on. Our prisoners of war were to be returned to American hands, as the Chinese and North Koreans were to be returned to their people. Through the dim half-light of fading memory, I recollect that Freedom Village was in a scooped-out hollow with hills brooding over it from four sides. A few dwellings leaned into the village amid taut canvas hospital tents. We representatives of the United Nations stood at attention as ambulances and beat-up buses arrived from the north. The UN, American and Korean flags hung limply in the humid August air. Photographers, Army and civilian alike, scurried about for good vantage points. The Chinese and North Koreans were the first to cross over "Freedom Bridge." They were surly, healthy looking and well fed. Some carried signs decrying capitalism. Members of a Republic of Korea regiment scowled, and one of them sent a spray of saliva in his former opponent's direction. The exchange had a tone of tense and bitter antagonism, and as young as I was, I wondered how long the newly inked truce would last. When the remaining Chinese and North Koreans had been herded off to their own vehicles, the UN prisoners were ushered from the trucks and buses and sent across the bridge to our side. The UN Honor Guard, combat veterans and observers gasped when they saw the condition of their returning comrades, who struggled, hobbled and staggered, gaunt and emaciated, toward friendly faces. One after another they came. The next one was in worse condition than the one before. Long lines of dull-eyed soldiers of the "Forgotten War" inched their way to freedom, and out of their number, a gray-faced stick figure of a boy-turned-old-man dragged himself along the bridge. His bony arms were held out like a sleepwalker. He staggered and swayed, and one time fell into the wooden railing. Every eye in that village was suddenly trained on that one figure. Even those on the northern side watched the gallant physical effort of the wasted soldier. Each tried, inwardly, to help, to urge him on, until finally, when he lurched forward, an MP major, a giant of a man, came up to help. The soldier waved him off with his skeleton hands and arms. Looking around at the grim faces, he caught sight of the three color bearers and shuffled toward them. When he reached the American flag bearer, he knelt on trembling knees before the flag as though it were an altar. He reached up and tugged at the flag. The color bearer, either by instinct or by some infinite wisdom, lowered the flag, and the soldier covered his face with it, sobbing and shaking uncontrollably. Other than the clicks of cameras, the village was cemetery-silent. Tears streamed from all of us. Cotton replaced saliva in our throats. After several moments, the stillness was broken by the sound of the heavy boots of the MP major, who came crunching across the gravel, his cheeks moist and glistening. He bent down and tenderly scooped the soldier up in his muscular arms and carried him off to a waiting ambulance, much as a father would carry a baby. Americans don’t question anymore,
they accept any political whore
to lose the freedoms that we had
what’s that you say?
has my mind gone astray?
hopefully it will shed some light
as liberty takes flight,
while the thieves work through the night
assuring our freedom will not last,
done in the name of security,
soon, we’ll no longer be free
and finance reform,
each is flawed,
serfdom will be the norm
demonstrations interdicted,
a czar will judge our intent,
we’ll wonder where our freedom went
intent on causing upheaval,
in our values system,
fulfilling their mission
taking over our schools,
they are an aberration,
turning out non-thinking fools
also Terry Mac, Reno and Kennedy,
they’re all involved in serious crimes,
yet not one is doing time
having been molded into sheep,
except for us who speak out loud,
refusing to go along with the crowd
it depends on what Americans choose,
will integrity and honor prevail,
will these criminals be sent to jail?

My stocks were down another point, the Dolphins lost by six.
I gave up on the drudgery and grabbed a wooden stool.
And so I flipped the TV on to catch a little break.
No snowflakes hung upon the wind, just clouds of swirling dust.
Eight Hummers ran a column right behind an M1A.
Their eyes were hard as polished flint, their faces drawn and lean.
Their dearest wish for Christmas, just to have a silent night.
To share a scrap of mail and dreams of going home again.
They had no Christmas turkey, just a pack of MREs.
They didn't need an ornament-- they lacked a Christmas Tree.
The only boxes I could see were labeled "ammunition."
He asked me what it was I feared, and why it was I cried.
And kissed him on the forehead as I whispered in his ear.
Our heroes stand on foreign land to give us all the right,
Instead of wondering if we will be the next one to fall.
