In fact, it is China that has demonstrated its blatant willingness to manipulate the American psyche through the direct intervention of the American media. One such example of a globalist financier with deep ties to China is Shan Weijian, who is locked in a lawsuit with famed CCP dissident Miles Guo and is attempting to silence a publisher for exposing harsh truths about CCP’s massive web of government and corporate influence. Shan, born in China, was part of what can be considered the original Thousand Talents Plan, following the opening of relations between China and the U.S. during the Richard Nixon administration. He attended some of the finest American universities (Cal-Berkeley), became ingratiated into Western institutions (World Bank), and worked for the most privileged corporations America has to offer (JP Morgan) before taking that knowledge back to China for economic and cultural conquest. Shan’s gushing profile in the CCP-friendly South China Morning Post explains how he exploited rules enacted by President Bill Clinton to make his fortune in China. Shan’s private equity firm, Newbridge Capital, worked with Chinese state bank officials and hired a former Clinton treasury official to become the controlling stakeholder of a powerful Chinese bank. Shan was a pioneer of the “Chimerica” intermingling of the Chinese and U.S. economies, resulting in a loss of American sovereignty and manufacturing that is likely nonrecoverable. Considering Shan owes his internationalist tycoon status directly to support from the CCP, it should come as no surprise that Shan sees himself locked into a feud with Guo, a Chinese patriot who is among the most outspoken opponents of Chinese communism on Earth. Republican attorneys general in 21 states called on the Biden administration to designate Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. "Because of the severe threat to our nation and our States posed by these cartels, I hereby request that the Sinaloa Cartel, CJNG, and other similarly situated Mexican drug cartels be designated as Foreign Terrorist Organizations pursuant to 8 U.S.C. § 1189," the attorneys general wrote in a letter to President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Wednesday. "Designating the cartels as FTOs will give state and federal law enforcement agencies increased powers to freeze cartel assets, deny entry to cartel members, and allow prosecutors to pursue tougher punishments against those who provide material support to the cartels." The officials listed the Sinaloa Cartel and Jalisco New Generation Cartel as the main perpetrators, citing information from the Drug Enforcement Administration that the groups "import dangerous raw materials from China, use them to produce deadly synthetic opioids at low cost, and unlawfully transport those opioids into the United States." It's been interesting to watch the increasing obsession with pushing green energy and the corresponding push-back against fossil fuels. Anyone with a brain knows this is a recipe for disaster, but the world is hurtling down that path anyway. The strange thing is the left doesn't want to wait until the infrastructure is in place to support a smooth transition. No, they want this transition done NOW, the peasants be damned. In theory, of course, wind and solar power sound terrific. What could be better than harvesting energy from free, never-ending, eternal sources? In this fantasy world, fairies and elves manufacture smart phones and iPads out of cobwebs and blossoms, and stock grocery stores through magic. The reality is green energy is anything but "green." No one wants to discuss the brutal conditions under which cobalt and other rare minerals are extracted to build solar panels and EV batteries, or that electric vehicles need up to six times more minerals than conventional cars. And let's not even discuss the untold thousands of birds literally incinerated by solar facilities. Wind is no better. Turbine blades must be replaced every 10 to 20 years, and since there's currently no way to recycle them, they're simply buried in a landfill like a mass grave. These monsters also have a devastating impact on wildlife; off-shore wind farms are killings whales, and endless birds – especially hawks and eagles – are butchered by land-mounted turbines. After the three public shootings over the last two weekends in California, Democrats are again clamoring for even more gun control laws. To California Gov. Gavin Newsom, the solution is to ban more places where people can carry permitted concealed handguns. Unfortunately, the proposal has nothing to do with stopping these attacks, and more gun-free zones only encourage these attacks. Other heavily Democratic states such as New York, New Jersey, and Maryland are making similar pushes. Concealed handgun permit holders didn’t commit those or other mass public shootings. Permit holders are also extremely law-abiding, being convicted of firearms-related violations at 1/12th the rate of police officers. With the country’s strictest gun control laws, California probably shouldn’t hold itself out as a model for the rest of the country to follow. The periods after 2000, 2010, or 2020 show a consistent pattern: The per capita rate of mass public shootings in California is always greater than the rate for the rest of the country. The rate is also much higher than for Texas, which gun control groups give an “F” grade for its gun control laws. Since 2010, California’s mass public shooting rate per capita is 43% higher than for Texas and 29% higher than for the rest of the U.S. From 2020 on, California’s rate was 276% higher than Texas’ and 100% higher than the rest of the country. But while California is moving to create more gun-free zones, the problem is that it has already been virtually impossible to get concealed handgun permits in the parts of California where the attacks occurred. In Los Angeles Country, where two of the attacks occurred, there is only one permit for every 5,660 adults. In San Mateo County, where the other attack occurred, there is one permit per every 24,630 adults. By comparison, there is one permit holder for every nine people in the 43 right-to-carry states. Unsurprisingly, concealed handgun permit holders don’t stop mass public shootings in California. But they do make a difference in the 43 states where there are a lot of permit holders. Indeed, people legally carrying guns stopped at least 31 mass public shootings since 2020. And when Americans are allowed to legally carry concealed handguns, they stop about half the active shooting attacks in the US. It is hard to ignore that these mass public shooters purposefully pick targets where they know their victims cannot protect themselves. Yet, the media refuses to discuss that these mass murderers often discuss in their diaries and manifestos how they pick their targets. The Biden administration canceled offshore oil and gas leases in May, imposed new regulations on onshore drilling in April and revoked a permit for the Keystone XL pipeline in January 2021. President Joe Biden promised to phase out fossil fuels during his 2020 campaign for president. Carlson also played clips of media figures claiming that hurricanes were becoming bigger threats due to climate change, before noting that the data showed hurricanes were becoming less frequent. “Nobody cares about data anymore; we saw that with COVID as well. There is an element of inevitability in play, but it isn't about central bank bailouts, it's about Death Spirals and the collapse of unsustainable systems. The vapid discussions about "soft" or "hard" landings for the economy are akin to asking if the Titanic's encounter with the iceberg was "soft" or "hard:" either way, the ship was doomed, just as the global economy is doomed by The New Normal of Death Spirals and Speculative Frenzies. Death Spirals are the inevitable result of entrenched interests clinging on to the status quo and thwarting any adaptation or evolution that might threaten or diminish their share of the swag-- and that includes any real change because any consequential modification has the potential to upset the gravy train. The status quo "solution" is to borrow and blow whatever sums are needed to satisfy every entrenched interest. Filling the federal slop-trough for all the hogs now requires borrowing a staggering $1.4 trillion every year, and billions more in municipal, county and state bonds (borrowing money via selling bonds) on the local level. This borrow and blow strategy avoids any uncomfortable discipline and difficult trade-offs: everybody gets everything they demand. This strategy looks "unsinkable" until the iceberg looms dead ahead. History suggests that fiscal and political discipline is eventually imposed by the real world in one fashion or another when diminishing returns enter a Death Spiral. Any limit on debt is of course "impossible," just as it was "impossible" for the Titanic to sink. But history is rather implacable in this regard. The self-serving hubris of "impossible" limits on largesse tend to collapse on contact with currency devaluation, structural inflation or a systemic crisis of legitimacy that sweeps away the entire worm-eaten facade of stability. In other words, the entrenched interests benefitting from the status quo will continue to do what worked in the past until it all implodes. The Post Millennial said O'Keefe founded Project Veritas in 2011 and "his brand of provocative journalism changed the face of investigative reporting." Recently, the organization's video reporting had caught an official for Pfizer boasting that his company was mutating the COVID-19 virus in order to be called upon to provide a continuing stream of shots, then the official claimed he was lying when he said that. The federal government at one point raided O'Keefe's home after he decided not to run a story based on a diary left in a rental unit by Joe Biden's daughter, in which the daughter suggested there were father-daughter showers that likely were inappropriate. The Post Millennial said, "Founder and CEO of investigative journalism organization Project Veritas is reportedly leaving the company he founded in 2011. This comes after some 16 staffers tried to oust him from the leadership of his own company, claiming, among other things, that he was difficult to work for and once even stole a sandwich, resulting in a dispute within the board of directors." The report cited Neil McCabe of OAN who wrote of the change on Twitter, with O'Keefe delivering his resignation to the organization's office in Mamaroneck, New York. But Project Veritas' RC Maxwell said that O'Keefe in fact was removed from his post by the board. The report said 16 staffers sent complaint letter to the board several weeks ago, complaining of his "management style" and more. "Many supporters and donors all balked at the idea that Veritas could continue without O'Keefe at the helm and prominent conservatives gave their support for O'Keefe," the report said.
