United States News Title: Supply Collapse: Inevitable? There is data out there at this point that says it is now taking roughly a month for a ship to be able to dock and offload its cargo -- an unthinkable concept just a year or two ago. Sure, there were strikes by longshoreman and various other events, but this is not that. This is from mandates and the impact they're having. People are tired of the crap and saying "screw that" up and down the line. Mr. Petulant Child thinks it is his "right" to impose mandates with a "do it or get fired", as does Becerra. Well, maybe -- but the consequences that will come from it are real, and at this point may be both unavoidable and catastrophic. How many middle fingers does it take before the supply chain collapses and you die as a consequence? We may be about to find out. I remind you that for decades you -- whether "D" or "R", Left or Right, have cheered for the 10 cent price reduction here, 20 cents there, the next dollar northbound on stock prices. The way this was accomplished was to move all the nasty stuff (pollution, labor law annoyances, etc.) over there. China could care less about labor laws, human rights or even clean air and water. We allowed TSMC to become the sole source for a huge number of chips that go into everything -- not the big processors but the chips without which those processors do not work. May I remind you that China considers Taiwan their property? This is not a singular example; go try to find capacitors and other discrete components, all of which you must have to build electronics. Of course all the assembly of that "stuff" got moved there too. Why pay someone $20 or $30/hour when you can instead pay pennies? It's all set up to get here in time; the ship takes "X" days to be loaded and sailed from China or India to this port in the US, offloaded and trucked to wherever. We did it with chips, we did it with machine parts, we did it with things like bearings and we did it with drugs. And then we instituted, during a viral outbreak, a set of rules that made it impossible to get the stuff across the ocean and off the ships to where it had to go. Eventually something really important is going to break for want of a part. The part(s) will be on a ship at sea. There is no possible way to get them off a stuffed container ship until it docks and the containers are unstacked. It's simply impossible. And it won't just be one thing either. You have seafaring people who haven't been able to go ashore in a year due to these mandates and lockdowns. When their contracts are up will they stay on or say "screw that" and walk off? What are you going to do if they walk off? This place requires that vax, this one another one and so on. This place is locked down entirely, the next won't let you into a restaurant, etc. Go ahead folks, keep letting this go on, even as the data is right in your face that being "vaccinated" doesn't stop you from getting Covid, doesn't stop you from giving it to others and increasingly doesn't stop you from winding up in the hospital or dead either. You were sold a bill of goods and now you have federal machinery that is ramming it in your arm despite knowing it doesn't work, while ignoring what we know does -- recovery from natural infection. Demand all the massssssks and jabs you want. What will you do when the trucker says "**** you"? How about when the mechanic that fixes the truck walks out? If that 18 wheeler throws a code it doesn't light up on the dashboard like your car does -- frequently it shuts down and that's that until its fixed. If there is no part to replace what's broken or no mechanic to replace it then it sits and so does your freight! When we made the decision to offshore all this "stuff" we also made the decision that we could never lock out, lock down, or impose constraints of any meaningful sort on any of the people who produce and then have to move the "stuff" from there to the final destination here where it can be and is consumed no matter what happened. Why not? What happens when a critical bearing in a nuclear plant fails with no spare available because its on that ship which won't dock for a month forcing the plant offline along with all of the energy it produces? You didn't want that light switch on the wall to actually turn on a light by chance? Oh, you think this is just about a few empty spaces in the store shelf? Uh, nope. It's literally impossible to know how all these moving parts in the economy are connected together but what is certain is that imposing any sort of movement constraint on people who are not compelled to work -- and nobody can be compelled to work at their capacity -- runs the risk of said decisions causing critical supply shortages, skyrocketing prices -- or both. It's been more than 18 months since this insanity started and all the slack that was in the supply chain is now gone -- plus some. It takes very little more at this point to utterly ruin you and everyone else and the closer you live to a "blue hive", or God forbid in one, the worse it can get. I don't care if you're scared of Covid -- how would you like to be scared in the dark, with no running water, and hungry? You might be if you keep allowing this to go on and don't force pudding- brain and everyone else to cut all this bull**** out -- right now. Today, I was preparing greens from the garden for canning when I asked a family member, "Why am I even doing this? How long can we possibly last when the famine hits?" His reply, "A whole lot longer than everybody else..." Needless to say, I stayed with the task.
