Heretofore ignored by the legacy press and mainstream media, in February, federal authorities invaded a neighborhood in the Flathead Valley with militarized police and terrorized its occupants with what appears to be Waco-level tyrannical overreach

In 1992, a federal siege occurred in Boundary County, Idaho, at a location known as Ruby Ridge. The eleven-day siege lasted from August 21-31 and resulted in the deaths of one U.S. Marshall, and the wife and son of Randy Weaver, the target of the siege. This event captured the attention of the nation. To secure the land around this seven-person home composed of three adults and four children, the federal government saw fit to send in hundreds of federal agents, as well as associated vehicles and air support.

The reasons for the siege are not pertinent here, but the fact is many lessons were learned as a result. Those lessons revolved around Rules of Engagement, the use of force, and other legal concerns. One would have hoped the lessons would be applied in future encounters, but in 1993 the same FBI Hostage Rescue Team commander took part in the siege and raid of the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas. After fifty-one days, the compound was breached and seventy-five people were killed, including twenty-five children. Nearly thirty years after Ruby Ridge, it seems that the only real lesson federal agencies applied from Ruby Ridge and Waco is that they needed to do a better job of keeping their activities out of the eyes of the public. Why? Because a similar event occurred in Western Montana on February 2, 2021, and it’s likely you’ve not heard anything about it.

In the early Tuesday morning hours, motion sensors alerted the occupant, hereafter referred to as John Doe (names have been changed to protect the innocent) that there was movement along the driveway to his home. Given the time of day, the location of the home, and some recent history that will be discussed later, Doe knew he needed to react, but in a non-threatening manner. His decision was to put on a pair of pants, remain barefoot and shirtless, and move to the front porch with his hands raised in the air. What appeared in the driveway was the lead vehicle of three BearCat armored personnel carriers – commonly referred to as personnel tanks (pictured left) – in a convoy of over thirty total vehicles.

The BearCats are armed with a rotating turret for housing customer- specific weapon systems. Five gun ports are located on each side of the vehicle, and an additional two on the rear. The vehicle are often equipped with .50 BMG or 7.62mm rifles. It is a military-grade vehicle often used by U.S. Special Forces and the Australian military.

But on this day, they were cruising the Flathead Valley with thirty other police vehicles in tow.

Also surrounding the house were one-hundred-plus federal agents with a helicopter in support. Federal agents immediately took Doe into custody and placed him in loose-fitting flex cuffs into the back of one of the BearCat vehicles. Inside the vehicle, John was placed on the outer wall, and at his feet were loaded weapons. Doe later concluded that this had to be a setup, for if he were to try to free himself, he would likely be killed. Seemingly unbeknownst to the Feds, Doe’s 88-year-old mother (who suffers from dementia) was asleep in the house. The actual homeowner, Jane Doe, was also in the home. This is why Doe wanted to avoid confrontation and the stress of such an event by presenting himself peacefully. What looked to be a quick and peaceful resolution then took a strange turn to the worse.

The author made all this sound hyper inflammatory and greatly sensational.

Yet he would not provide the actual who [and exactly] what, where, when or why to his “important news” story.

And you, MISGUIDEDAH, obviously did not even try to get a second source – or even third source – before you “pimped” for the author.

I just spent time looking for such an important story that would surely be covered in some credible “local” news outlets.

I found none.

I did however find that your source – Montana Daily Gazette is not a published newspaper.

And interestingly enough, I also found this informative jewel:

“Another fake news site distorts political coverage in Montana.”
https://missoulacurrent.com/opinion/2020/03/voices-fake-news- site/

It’s blatantly obvious that you again fell head over heels for literally fake news.

It's OK though – try not to feel too stupid.

So did a lot others of your type …

And you no doubt have now caused even more to do so by propagating this “fake news” trash.

It is indeed a pathetic tragedy that this once great “Chit-Chat Channel” has now degenerated into such a cesspool for fake news provocateurs and anti-government conspiracy theorists.

All this begs the question: Why do you people continue to fall for this “fake news” shit – And moreover, why do you habituality disseminate it?

Didn't know I had to.

Now that you know you acted out of ignorance and realize that I brought you to the fulfillment of reality, you no longer need to continually act out of blatant stupidity by being a fervent slave to fake news and a dedicated messenger to spreading it.

The first step is always the hardest – “Recognition.”

Recognizing that what you have with the “Montana Daily Gazette” – and like fake news sources – are radicals attempting a scheme to exploit the credibility of local journalism. They do so by using innocuous-sounding names like the “Montana Daily Gazette.” This "Gazette" is likely an attempt to mimic the "Billings Gazette" to imply authenticity.

The "Daily Gazette" you have been so easily duped by in not an authentic news publication. It is merely a website on a paid domain which has an author who simply is only referred to as, "PUBLISHER." The fake news website uses an avatar of a scene in Glacier and overlays the word "Montana." Ergo – You get the “Montana Daily Gazette.”

I just spent time looking for such an important story that would surely be covered in some credible “local” news outlets.

Don Pogreba, who wrote the article you linked, is a "local" high school teacher. He's a uber liberal sodomite loving abortionist. Just your type.

On the other hand, the Montana Daily Gazette is...

Some people fall for fake news: Hijacked thinking, laziness or what?

There must be a insight ion as to why they believe the unbelievable.

Psychologists and other behavioral researchers find this alarming since fake news has severe detrimental implications not only in politics – but also in areas such as health, climate science, and financial information.

How can people possibly believe this fake news shit?

Those now posting on this thread who have comprehensive and authoritative knowledge of, or skill in this particular area – perhaps can address that question.

I say that a good explanation is “motivated reasoning” — with the idea that some folks’ cognitive processes are biased toward believing things that only conform with their worldview. And consequently, their reasoning is held captive by partisan biases so much so that their thinking gets hijacked.

I close my participation on this thread by pointing out that how to consume news is of great importance.

To be intelligent, you need to be able to tell different types of news stories apart.

You definitely need to learn how to spot fake news.

Most importantly, you need to check sources and make sure they’re trying to tell the truth.

That is not hard thing to do – It is simply a learned process.

If you are going to quote me, then please do not take a partial quote and try to tailor it to fit and support your comment. I clearly stated in Post #1 to WWG1WWA:

I just spent time looking for such an important story that would surely be covered in some credible “local” news outlets. I found none. I did however find that your source – Montana Daily Gazette is not a published newspaper.

You did not respond to my statement. Instead, you deceptively took a partial quote to segue into a rabid personal attack on the author of the article in the link when you stated that:

Don Pogreba, who wrote the article you linked, is a "local" high school teacher.

So, what is wrong with that – Nothing. As a “local” he is surely aware of what goes on in his area. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with a “high school teacher” writing an article – Right?

Then you go on to emphatically state that Don Pogreba is a …

… a uber liberal sodomite loving abortionist.

Let Let’s look at the definitions of your charges:

Uber liberal: Extremely or extraordinarily liberal : very strongly favoring, adhering to, or based upon the principles of liberalism an ultraliberal politician ultraliberal policies.

Sodomite: A person who engages in sodomy.

Abortionist: A person who carries out abortions (typically applied to someone not working in a hospital, or used to convey disapproval of abortion).

I found a couple of links that states Don Pogreba is a “liberal blogger” – but I find nothing to justify your charge that he is either a “sodomite” or an “abortionist.”

Can you justify your charges, while remembering the:

Differences Between Defamation, Slander, and Libel,

Perhaps you should be made aware that:

If you are accused of defamation, slander, or libel, truth is an absolute defense to the allegation. If what you said is true, there is no case. If the case is brought by a public figure and you can prove you were only negligent in weighing whether the statement was false, that can be a defense as well.

Defamation is an area of law that protects people’s reputations by allowing them recourse if false statements are made about them. This type of civil case is an effective way to protect your reputation.

Defending a Defamation Case.

Good luck – Should it come to that. …

Don Pogreba @DPogreba

I believe it was WWG1WWA who once asked, "Why do you hate us?"

Answer: Because we are Christians and conservatives.

Nah – I don’t “hate” anyone.

I do however find those posters “unlikeable” – who call themselves conservatives but act like narrow-minded assholes and think they are Christians when they are really hypocrites.

Someone who calls himself a Christian yet makes a maliciously unsubstantiated charge that someone else is a “sodomite loving abortionist” without one iota of proof to substantiate the charge – is a classic example of what I am saying.

Your Avoidance Behavior is duly noted as an action you are taking because you are unable to reply intelligently when confronted with the facts I presented. That’s bad because avoidance behavior is generally considered maladaptive – it promotes an exaggerated fear response through negative reinforcement. You are ignoring a reality response since it’s easier for you to not acknowledge something when you are unable to come up with an intelligent response. Avoiding this situation will not make it cease to exist.

Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him. Proverbs 26:4

Ah – That you take refuge and hide behind the Bible once again is not surprising. It is so typical of a cowardly fake Christian. It must be strange to feel that you are the Spirit of God and yet cower behind the Bible to shield your ignorant beliefs while you constantly fail to defend your positions. To take an avoidance stand on Scripture and think you are one who had been given some wisdom yet fail to exercise the use of it is pathetic.

To be reticent to speak for yourself as a self and resort to trying to let Scripture speak for you is weak. That it keeps you from being bold and confrontational to defend yourself is sad. You should not hide behind the Bible to avoid having to be responsible for what you have said. You fail to understand that there is something manipulative and irresponsible about doing this. It isn’t being honest with yourself and others.

Learn here what the Bible says about hiding.

Trying to let Scripture speak for you is weak – Yet here you are continuing to try doing it:

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

2 Corinthians 12:9,10

As you use the Bible versus to justify your illogical and prejudiced beliefs, you should know it’s not having the effect you intended. It is however continuing to give me a great platform from which to launch my messages – and I thank you for that.

Your reasons for using the Bible to prove your points is wrong. When you get upset about my posts and have no intelligent response to them, you hammer out Scripture declaring that such-and-such is PERMITTED or PROHIBITED by the Bible. You make the Bible mean whatever you want it yo mean. This will of course cause any reasonable person not to be blamed for throwing their hands up in the air and dismissing you as a biased idiot and whatever you are trying to say falls by the wayside. When someone like you makes the Bible mean anything you want it to mean, then what possible good could it do as a source of guidance after you have prostituted it so dangerously in a way that is likely to have adverse consequences?

I find the reason people like you think that anything can be proven from the Bible comes from two common mistakes. The first is that you can only handle bumper-sticker quotes and not careful nuanced intelligent reasoning. The second is that you always quote specific verses in isolation – specifically for the purpose of proving a point – where as you are then relating to the Bible as if is a policy manual the same as you would some list of standards and practices. It is quite obvious that you have a complete misunderstanding of the nature and purpose of the Bible.

However – Just keep the “prompts” coming to me …

To that, I will say that he who must useth the Bible as his mental crutch is an Idiot. Gatlin 04-31

When discussing something with someone like you who believes the Bible so deeply that they must use it as the only guide in their lives and has to constantly quote Scripture as a defense mechanism – I then need to remind myself that I’m dealing with someone who has forgone logic, reason and common sense.

I find that someone who must constantly fall back on “the Scripture says” is almost always uneducated as to the historically and culturally conditioned nature of these ancient writings and really has no clue as to what these writings really mean. Oh, you of course have your very own interpretations – tp justify what you want to believe. Often, however, the person who tries to justify everything by appeal to “the Bible says,” have no real understanding they are doing this. I of course place you in this category.

Furthermore, I find that trying to reason with people like you, is typically a waste of time – albeit a most enjoyable verbal sport in which I like to engage.

I will however not cater to your ignorance. I just continue posing truthfully documented situations to stop you dead in your tracks. That always works – and you must always then resort to quoting Scripture as your only defense mechanism.

Which is what you have done here …

Scripture as a defense mechanism

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two- edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God …

Is is my guilty pleasure to watch with predictable certainty you fake Christians. To see you feel that you are the sole keyboard warriors for the word of God. To know your programmed reaction when you miss information. Or when you don’t bother to actually read a post to understand it – and then just react to the name of the individual who made the post. And when you don’t’ read an article but just react to the title. All this reveals a deep reality in that you have a programmed biased reaction – and in most cases programmed biased overreaction – before you understand the whole story or situation.

I love it when I see your bias – also known as the know-it-all-anyway phenomenon or creeping determinism – is the common tendency for those of you fake Christians who have constant systematic patterns of deviation from norm and/or rationality in judgment. It’s amazing how you always look at an event and think it was easily predictable by going in search of a Scripture you feel surely fits. All the time while you fail to realize that your whole concept of "blind devotion" is wrong. It's a fallacy. It is utmost in laziness and poor judgment rolled into programmed methodology to excuse your lack of intelligence

The word of God is an absolute necessity but in your current misapplications on this chit-chat channel – you treat is as little more than an argument cannon.

Shame on you …

intelligence is best described as a socially constructed concept that can mean different things to different people.

Wikipedia says that intelligence is the capacity for logic, understanding, self- awareness, learning, emotional knowledge, reasoning, planning, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving. More generally, it can be described as the ability to perceive or infer information, and to retain it as knowledge to be applied towards adaptive behaviors within an environment or context.

Wisdom has been defined in many different ways, including several distinct approaches to assess the characteristics attributed to wisdom.

Wikipedia says that wisdom [sapience, or sagacity} is the ability to think and act using knowledge, experience, understanding, common sense and insight.[1] Wisdom is associated with attributes such as unbiased judgment, compassion, experiential self-knowledge, self-transcendence and non- attachment,[2] and virtues such as ethics and benevolence.

I can accept those definitions.

whaT's The difference [between intelligence and wisdon]?

Intelligence is “capacity” while wisdom is “ability.”

I understand what you are saying.

There is no necessary correlation between intelligence and wise conduct. You can be a fool with a very high IQ. You can be an evil genius. You can be dim, and good. You can be slow on the uptake, yet wise. You can be dull, and yet very skilled at the worthwhile thing that you do.

Wisdom is far more valuable than intelligence. A quick concordance check of the NIV Bible shows that the word intelligent appears nine times, clever appears twice, and the words smart, intellectual, bright, and brainy not at all. But the words discern and discerning appear 34 times, understanding appears 115 times, and wise and wisdom 455 times. Know and knowledge appear 1,250 times. Think, thought, consider, meditate, reason, and ponder appear 405 times. We are commanded 14 times to “Wake up!” In the KJV, the command “Behold!” appears 1,326 times. The Bible highly rates wisdom, wisely alert thought, and wisely used knowledge. Bare intelligence is irrelevance.

At the end of the day, a person’s contribution to the world, their society, and their friends and family will be determined not by their intelligence per se, but by their wisdom and goodness.
