Title: The emergency of government by Democrats

During the Cold War, a U.S. Air Force Starfighter radioed to an airport in England asking for permission to land. Starfighters were difficult to fly, and many crashed. Air traffic control told the pilot he was using a frequency reserved for emergencies and should switch to a different one, to which the pilot responded with the laconic bluntness of his caste, "Listen, pal, when you've got a Starfighter strapped to your a--, that's an emergency."

Whether the amusing story is true or apocryphal, it captures the fact that an emergency can be real and must be dealt with immediately or it can be an exaggerated claim cited for convenience.

Increasingly, Democrats conjure up emergencies to camouflage long- standing policies, to press electoral advantage, to extend government overreach, and to assault freedom. Incoming administrations are shocked — shocked, they tell us — to discover the appalling state of affairs left by their predecessors, and they solemnly announce that emergency remedial action is unavoidable.

Having Biden (and Camela) in the White Hut him signing piles of EOs negating the accomplishments Made by our President is so incongruous it should make our blood boil over!

The Central Socialist Government just grows and grows and grows as more highly paid jobs are added to the burgeoning octopus. A proper president believes in lean government. This mistake is still tryinjg to figure out where baby monkeys come from. His picks for secretaries has been wrong-headed in evry instance.

All politicals, with the exception of two or three keep referring to our form of government as a democracy. It is a Republic. We keep talking about bringing American democracy to countries less fortunate. It is nothing but a time bomb.

All politicals, with the exception of two or three keep referring to our form of government as a democracy. It is a Republic.

Actually, It’s not a republic either – though that is the form of government which was intended by the founders. The reason is that In a “true republic” the elected officials are answerable to the electorate. In the United States, the desires of the electorate have a near-zero effect on policy. The influence of money has a near-100% effect on policy. Hence, elected officials are not answerable to those who elected them, but to those with money. It is therefore easy to say that this makes the United States a Plutocracy/Oligarchy. [End sarcasm – But, the statement is unfortunately oh so true in many cases].

An answer to the question – “why do many people refer to the United States of America as a democracy” – may lie here:

i have heard so many different responses to this question over the years that it has honestly become something of a joke to me. The USA is so obsessed with the terms ‘Democracy’ and ‘Freedom’ that we’ll slap them on just about anything it seems. Here’s the way I see it, though, take it how you will.

Google’s provided definition of the term ‘Democracy’ reads as follows (quoted directly from the search result page): “a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives.”

And similarly? Google’s provided definition of the term ‘Republic’ reads as follows (also quoted directly from the search result page): “a state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives, and which has an elected or nominated president rather than a monarch.”

We can then take the Google provided definition for the term ‘Constitutional’ (third verse, same as the first): “relating to an established set of principles governing a state.”

And we see that, basically? All three of those terms are correct answers for what system of government we have in The United States of America. What’s really interesting to me, however? Is that there are some other governmental terms that could easily apply too (all following definitions provided by Google).

Plutocracy: “government by the wealthy.” (When was the last time you saw a lower, or even upper middle class, candidate for president, senate, representative, or any other federal level elected position?)

Ultranationalist: “extreme nationalism that promotes the interests of one state or people above all others.” (How many wars have we participated in, now, where our only invested interest was the spread of our own form of government, or other such national interests?)

Now. It is worth noting? I don’t actually believe either of the above two terms are really good examples of our governmental system. They’re more like biproducts of American Culture than they are hard and set rules. After all. There isn’t any law stating that a poor man -can’t- run for President, it just doesn’t happen. And there are just as many arguments that the wars we went into were for the sake of our allies, or for humanitarian emergency purposes, or something else other than just serving our own national interests.

The reason I pointed those out, though? Is because a lot of the terms used for defining governmental systems? Are redundant, repetitive, and semantic. The only real distinction between a Democracy, a Democratic Republic, a Constitutional Democracy, and a Constitutional Republic (the four answers I hear most often when I ask someone what kind of government America has)? Is how you phrase the definition. The spirit of the definition? Is the exact same for all four answers.

https://www.quora.com/Why-do-many- people-refer-to-the-United-States-of-America-as-a-democracy-Am-I-wrong- in-understanding-that-it-is-actually-a-constitutional-republic

There is really no need for you to pay such attention to semantics, when – “"The devil is in the details."

You really need to pay close attention to what the “politicians” actually do – or don’t do – and not what they call it.

Just Sayin’ …
