Dianne Feinstein was caught on tape looking at notes scrawled in the palm of her hand during a televised debate. Both news and footage of this mortifying history of hers have only recently been dug up in response to the liberal media's extreme overreaction to Palin doing the same thing at the recent Tea Party convention. Seems like Sarah Palin wasn't the only one to use the old tactic of looking at notes scrawled in the palm of her hand as a memory aid. In fact, you can even credibly say that she was only mimicking the antics of that California, senior senator, Dianne Feinstein, who had Palin beat by a good 20 or so years and seemed to set the "standard" for such activity! Of course, you won't hear the liberal, mainstream media give anything coming close to equal time with this embarrassment of Feinstein's since they are good, little lapdogs of the Democrats.
The year was 1990, October 1990 in fact. The scene? Why, the debate for the gubernatorial race between her and Pete Wilson, who would end up trouncing Feinstein and become California's govenor from 1991 until 1999. The scandal that occurred? Feinstein scrawling the three words "growth," "education," and "choice" on her delicate, little hand in noticeably glaring, blue marker to remind her of the policy themes she desired to use against Wilson in that debate. According to the Santa Barbara Independent, Feinstein's reason for this moment of now-regrettable indiscretion was due to nervousness as it was a statewide, televised event (Awwww, Dianne!!! Don't be nervous...girlfriend!!).
As you'll see on the video from Fox News Channel, ol' Dianne was clearly a bit jittery or at least unsure of herself, and I don't think I'm being that partisan here. It's also very incriminating to note that, unlike Palin's use of the notes in the palm of her hand, Feinstein's use of them in her televised debate actually constituted a violation of the debate rules in purely technical terms as candidates weren't allowed to bring notes in any form to the podium! When asked about her violation, good ol' Dianne did what all mature, rational, clear-thinking Democrats do: She childishly snapped, "I'm not going to show you," hid her guilty hand behind her back, and then walked away. I'm not joking here, people!!
