Brown County GOP Endorses Rob Portman COLUMBUS, OH – The Brown County Republican Party last night endorsed Rob Portman for U.S. Senate. “I was honored to represent Brown County in the U.S. Congress, and I’m pleased to have received the endorsement of the Brown County Republican Party,” Portman said. “Brown County, like the rest of Ohio, is suffering through record high unemployment. Too many working families aren’t able to make ends meet and too many small business owners are struggling to meet payroll. We can no longer afford the status quo that threatens to bankrupt us. We need to focus all of our energy on fostering an environment where jobs can be created and working families can feel confident that their hard-earned dollars won’t be used for more out-of-control spending and job-killing policies.”

NOTE: In December 2009, the latest data available, Brown County had a 12.9 percent unemployment rate. Brown County is located in the 2nd Congressional District, which Portman represented in the U.S. House of Representatives.
