Brown County GOP Endorses Rob Portman COLUMBUS, OH The Brown County Republican Party last night endorsed Rob Portman for U.S. Senate. I was honored to represent Brown County in the U.S. Congress, and Im pleased to have received the endorsement of the Brown County Republican Party, Portman said. Brown County, like the rest of Ohio, is suffering through record high unemployment. Too many working families arent able to make ends meet and too many small business owners are struggling to meet payroll. We can no longer afford the status quo that threatens to bankrupt us. We need to focus all of our energy on fostering an environment where jobs can be created and working families can feel confident that their hard-earned dollars wont be used for more out-of-control spending and job-killing policies.
Brown County is honored to support Rob Portman once again, said Brown County GOP Chairman Paul Hall. He represented our area with distinction for twelve years in Congress, and we know that he will be a strong advocate for all of Ohio in the U.S. Senate. We need a Senator who understands how to cut through the red tape and get things done to help put us on the path to economic recovery. Rob Portman will be effective on Day One, and we look forward to doing everything we can to help him win in November.
NOTE: In December 2009, the latest data available, Brown County had a 12.9 percent unemployment rate. Brown County is located in the 2nd Congressional District, which Portman represented in the U.S. House of Representatives.
