Gallup: Palin and Romney top two contenders for 2012 Posted by Allen Caeden on Thursday, February 11, 2010 4:29:33 PM From: http://www.gallup.com/poll/125777/Voters-Divided-Obama-Republican-Candidate-2012.aspx

The poll asked Republicans and Republican-leaning independents to name, without prompting, whom they would most like to see as the party's 2012 presidential candidate. It is clear at this early date that most Republicans have not developed a preference, with 42% not having an opinion or volunteering that they do not prefer any candidate.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin are most frequently mentioned, by 14% and 11%, respectively. Seven percent mention Arizona Sen. John McCain, the 2008 nominee. Newly elected Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown, former Arkansas Gov. and 2008 candidate Mike Huckabee, and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich are each mentioned by at least 3% of Republicans.

Hey, I told my daughter and my wife that I'd be joining them on Facebook soon.

Neither seemed all too thrilled with the concept, but they both agreed to be one of my "friends"...LOL!!

We are in trouble...

The population of this country is 300 million.

160 million are retired.

That leaves 140 million to do the work.

There are 85 million in school.

Which leaves 55 million to do the work.

Of this, there are 35 million employed by the federal govt.

Leaving 20 million to do the work.

2.8 million are in the armed forces preoccupied with killing Osama Bin- Laden.

Which leaves 17.2 million to do the work.

Take from that total, the 15.8 million people who work for state and city Governments.

And that leaves 1.4 million to do the work.

At any given time there are 188,000 people in hospitals.

Leaving 1,212,000 to do the work.

Now, there are 1,211,998 people in prisons.

That leaves just two people to do the work.

You and me.

And there you are,

Sitting on your ass,

At your computer, reading jokes...

Nice... Real nice...

Sheeesh...MUD

Most of the retirees I know are either doing odd jobs or have started another business.

But please... never question your nanny state statistics. My local Wally World is full of employees retired from some other job.

"Most of the retirees I know are either doing odd jobs or have started another business."

Good fer them...I, too, plan on NEVER fully retiring. As long as folks are willing to give me money to assist them in whatever I'm capable of assisting them, I'm gonna keep accepting their cash. Lord knows I ain't gonna EVER see a penny of my Social Security bennies, so i better stayt gainfully-employed.

"But please... never question your nanny state statistics."

Sheeesh, MG, it's a friggin' joke, not a scientific analysis...MUD
