A new poll on race relations in the U.S. shows that a clear majority believe the country has a racism problem. The poll, by The Wall Street Journal and NBC News, revealed that of the 900 registered voters who were asked, 56 percent agreed that American society is racist. That number varied significantly among certain demographics. Of women, 66 percent believed this, compared with 46 percent of men. Democrats polled agreed with this at a rate of 82 percent compared with 30 percent of Republicans. A majority of White, Black, and Hispanic participants all agreed that U.S. society is racist, with 51 percent of White people supporting that idea, compared with 60 percent of Hispanics and 78 percent of Black participants. Most voters who participated said they support the protests that have taken place since the death of George Floyd, with 57 percent expressing support. Much closer, however, was the response to a question about what should be done with Confederate statues. Only 51 percent said that they should be removed, with just 10 percent calling for their destruction – the others said they should be moved to museums – and 47 percent said they should be left in place. Most of the people who wanted them to remain supported the idea of adding plaques to provide historical context. The poll revealed that Black and White voters are not necessarily on the same page when it comes to explaining race-based discrimination in the U.S. Of Black voters, 65 percent said racism is a systemic problem built into various institutions and policies. White voters were more divided in how they answered the question and the largest segment – 48 percent – said discrimination was the result of racist individuals.

I'd love to see an example of what they're referring to. -- Must pass a test to get into college? Racist. The National Museum of African American History and Culture (funded by the Smithsonian) posted a graphic on their website (since taken down) which listed the characteristics or beliefs of the “dominant culture of “whiteness”. This included: -- self-reliance Now I had always thought those were characteristics of all Americans. But apparently blacks believe only whites behave this way. If so, then I can see how blacks would consider it to be "racist" to expect this behavior from them. So, someone please describe for me the "culture of blackness" which doesn't include these things?
Seems racist to believe America is racist. I'm long American gullibility and plan to make a fortune.
I remember visiting the Smithsonian Institution when I was a kid.
That must be what they were referring to. So, okay. What's wrong with that? Other than it should be called "American Culture" instead of "White Culture". Every child should be raised with those principles. But I am always open to other ideas. Within the highlighted red areas, what is the black culture? Should that black culture replace white culture?

If they're not, then what are they? What are the "Aspects and Assumptions of Blackness and Black Culture in the United States"? Crickets. Tear down white culture and substitute ... nothing.
