Like nature abhorring a vacuum, the Left has always abhorred anyone who dares point out their gross hypocrisy concerning tolerance and egalitarianism. The destructive Jacobins led by Maximilien Robespierre (responsible for the Reign of Terror during the French Revolution), sought to savagely murder all persons they deemed supporters of the Ancien Régime, while destroying churches and statues, and changing the names of streets, months, or days of the week in their genocidal war against the Roman Catholic Church and its clergy and laity. Their descendants, today’s Social Justice Warriors, abhor anyone who they believe dares romanticize the antebellum Slavocracy begun by slaveowners Washington and Jefferson. So the corrupt SPLC and their co-conspirator enablers Google will no doubt aggressively begin their Orwellian Memory Hole purge of YouTube when their Commie forebears sang songs praising Southern racists and the Slavocracy: Jefferson and Liberty, sung by Pete Seeger; The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, sung by Joan Baez; Old Folks at Home – Swanee River, sung by Paul Robeson; My Old Kentucky Home, sung by Paul Robeson. All such politically incorrect historical evidence of these “thought crimes” must disappear. Simplistic demonological reductionism to ideological categories has always been the hallmark of the Left. Historical context or evolving frame of reference be damned. Pete Seeger’s comrade in the Almanac Singers, Okie Commie balladeer Woody Guthrie falls in a special category. His father Charley was an Okemah real-estate agent, district court clerk, Democratic politician, Freemason, and Klansman, who was allegedly involved in the lynching of Laura and L. D Nelson, an African-American mother and son on May 25, 1911, near Okemah, Okfuskee County, Oklahoma. When Woody first came to California and began his folk singing career, he carried his father’s virulent racism with him. But none of his early broadcast racist rants on Pasadena’s KFVD survive, so he will get a free pass. But the cancel cultural purges and expunging will not be confined to old Commies.
