Title: NYPD is Raiding Sleeping Truckers Hauling Supplies During Outbreak, Impounding Cargo

Brooklyn, NY — As doctors, nurses, and other medical staff bravely battle the coronavirus on the front lines, there are other industries out there who are providing extremely vital services, but get overlooked. In a time in which grocery store shelves are being emptied at furious rates, truck drivers are tirelessly carrying tons of supplies from coast to coast to make sure society does not break down during this crisis.

The supplies range from food to medical supplies that are invaluable during these times. One would think that these brave men and women behind the big wheels would be given leeway by law enforcement during this outbreak. However, as the following case illustrates, one would be wrong.

In many places, these truck drivers are actually greeted with kindness and thanked for their service. In Eufaula, Alabama, the police department announced they wanted to help the hungry truck drivers, AL.com reported.

“To that end, if you are a truck driver, and need to take time off the road in Eufaula, we will assist you in getting food,” the Eufaula Police Department posted on their official Facebook page. “With more and more restaurants limiting their dining room access, it is becoming harder for our truck driving friends to find places to eat. We will either go get something for you, or give you a ride to the nearest drive through (if you don’t mind riding in the back seat).”

“We are working non-stop, but it’s to make sure people get what they need,” says Ronda Aucoin, a truck driver from Kentucky.

Aucoin told KRNV that people have been kind of enough to bring her a warm meal when she and her daughter post-up at truck stops across the country.

“Nevadans have been especially nice since a few places are closed and not allowing us to stay the night when we’re done working,” says Aucoin.

But these cases are in Nevada and Alabama. In New York, the same brave men and women hauling crucial supplies during this crisis are being preyed on by police. Instead of bringing them warm food and salutations, officers from the NYPD’s 66th Precinct brought them extortion and theft.

Because many rest stops are closed across the country, Truckers have been forced to stop on the side of the road to sleep while hauling these supplies. Instead of realizing this, NYPD cops raided the sleeping truckers, issued them fines and impounded their vehicles — for sleeping on the side of the road.

Completely oblivious to the heinous nature of preying on people trying to keep the nation from falling into chaos, the officers who conducted the raid took to Twitter to brag about it.

“Our traffic safety officer was out on Bay pkwy towing these illegally parked trailers,” the NYPD 66th Precinct tweeted on Monday morning. “Please remember commercial vehicles cannot be parked on residential blocks.”

The tweet has since been deleted after they received a massive wave of backlash. The act of extorting truckers hauling much need supplies was so over the top that it even drew criticism from other cops.

Even the pro-police media outlet Blue Lives Matter decried the actions of NYPD’s 66 Precinct in an article on Tuesday. Blue Lives Matter described what happened in the 66th Precinct as “utterly disgusting.”

Also, retired NYPD Detective David Chianese captured the tweet and then took to his Advocacy for LEOs Blog to sarcastically flog the “brave” cops for raiding sleeping truckers.

Parked along a deserted mixed-use street in the wee hours of the morning lay truckers. Over the road truckers who have been working nonstop the last few weeks in a desperate attempt to win shelf space in stores to prevent the American people from going without. Truckers sleeping in their rigs to catch a few moments of rest before pulling out to take loaded trailers to their next destination. Trailers full of water, diapers, baby formula, and the ever-elusive toilet paper. Trailers that will now go undelivered and further set back the fight to keep goods flowing to stores so that the citizens of the United States have what they need.

As the sun slowly begins to crack just over the elevated subway station, a crack comes over the radio signaling the beginning of “Operation Cluster F**k”. An operation spearheaded and ran by no other than Long Island native, Deputy Inspector James King. Like the brave soldiers on Omaha Beach, members of the 66 Pct and the NYPD Traffic Enforcement Division charged the block and risked it all to wake sleeping out of state truckers.

Luckily, this time, the waters would not turn red from the blood of slaughtered patriots risking their lives to save an enslaved nation halfway across the world but it would mean people not getting what they need, while sitting in quarantine during the largest global emergency since the deadly Spanish influenza pandemic of 1918.

Blue Lives Matter said they spoke with an NYPD official who said the cops in the 66th precinct are doing the bidding of community leaders who don’t want trucks parked in their neighborhoods.

“This is a situation where the precinct commander didn’t have the balls to tell the community leaders that they’re being ridiculous,” the NYPD official told Blue Lives Matter. “Why would he send officers to mess with these truckers who need to deliver supplies, effectively exposing all of the officers and the truckers to each other for no reason? It’s just inexcusable.”

And there you have it. To “keep you safe” during this crisis, at the behest of their rich community leaders, cops are extorting truck drivers and impounding the supplies they are hauling which are keeping the country from falling into utter chaos. Seems legit.

I would need to know more than what I read in an article in The Free Thought Project and written by Matt Agorist before I could possibly comment on your request.

Why?

One reason ...

There are other such damning reports …

While I have absolutely no basis to correct you since I don’t have access to the facts, I will however politely say that I will forever need to fact-check what I read that is presented by TFTP - and especially those articles written by Matt Agorist.

Thank you for providing me the platform and transition methodology for me to say that my back-story research has shown that some of the web publications publish unverifiable information that is mostly never supported by evidence. Because of this, I have deemed these sources to be untrustworthy for credibly verifiable information.

I got tired of having to fact-check almost every sentence in those web publications that supply unverifiable information, so it has become common practice for me to now look at “source” and “author” of any newly posted article and pass it by if I have found many cases in the past where they only present agenda driven biased stories by rewriting local news story to comply with their point of view.

I have never stated anything about censorship. That is not within my purview – and neither do I ever want it to be. What I have done is to continually advocate for and recommend the fact-checking and further investigation on an each article basis when obtaining information from any of these sources before anyone makes a crusading dedicated effort to promote unverifiable information in the articles from these untrustworthy sources.

I will continue to do that …

Gatlin: I would need to know more than what I read in an article in The Free Thought Project

Watchman: Try the link in the article: "Advocacy for LEOs Blog"

I went to the link in the article Advocacy for LEOs Blog as you suggested. Unfortunately, I found nothing therein to state if the tows were unlawful and therefore illegally conducted. Neither did I find a reason for the tows stated in the source you directed me to. I will mention here that I previously found in another article that the reason for the tows were that various home owners living on the residential street where the big rigs were parked called in complaints to the NYPD that the big rigs were blocking their driveways – and those complaints from the home owners that the big rigs were blocking their driveways was the reason for the tows. It was not a capricious decision given to a sudden or unaccountable change in the behavioral mood pf NYPD’s 66 Precinct Deputy Inspector James King.
The comments on the blog are from people who live in the neighborhood...very enlightening.
The first comment in the blog was from Rabbi Freilich – whom we can probably assume is a resident of the neighbor because it is a Jewish neighborhood and it definitely appears that he knows and is satisfied with the performance of NYPD’s 66 Precinct Deputy Inspector James King – his comment is directed to the author of this article and states:
You should all be ashamed of urself, if ur not happy with something, file ur grievances at the Pct, but to go around and belittle one the best commanders the 66 ever had is disgusting, do u believe he went there for fun? The residents complained, he’s only doing his job,
I read the next ten or so comments after his comment nd they did nothing to factually state anything that I could find about the tows. All I saw were personal attacks on the Rabbi. Did I miss something that you deemed “very enlightening” to explain why the big rigs were towed and if it was lawful. Please let me know.

Until I receive such enlightened information, I will stand by my statement:

I would need to know more than what I read in an article in The Free Thought Project and written by Matt Agorist before I could possibly comment on [sneakypete's] request.
Moving on …
Oh, yes, Gatlin, one more thing...try to stop whining...it's unbecoming to a gentleman of your age. Thanks in advance.
There is a distinct difference between complaining and whining which can easily be distinguished by the nature of the expressed dissatisfaction and by the motivation for expressing it. Complaining is said to involve voicing fair and legitimate dissatisfactions with the goal of achieving a corrective remedy – which is a good thing. My goal is to MLFGA. I voice the dissatisfactions that I feel are legitimate and I do so to attain a resolution. I will continue to do that ...

I say it is complaining and as I so aptly stated in a previous post that complaining has a constructive good.

While you say it is whining.

Oh yes – In any case, I will take your request under careful advisement and get back to you at some future date …

I would need to know more than what I read in an article in The Free Thought Project
I am learning more …

Matt Agorist in The Free Thought Project article posted here stated that “truck drivers are tirelessly carrying tons of supplies” and in these trucks:

The supplies range from food to medical supplies that are invaluable during these times.

While Ashley in an article published in CDL Life stated:

A New York City Police Department precinct towed trucks from a residential roadway while the drivers waiting for a load.
So …

Matt Agorist stated the trucks were full and delivering “supplies that range from food to medical supplies.”

While Ashley stated that the trucks were “empty and waiting for a load.”

We are to believe whom …

Knowing Matt Agorist’s posting history of yellow journalism that has over time presented little or no legitimate well-researched news while instead simply taking stories from other sources and rewriting them to use eye-catching exaggerations and scandal-monger with sensationalism to show a situation in an agenda driven bad light – I chose to believe Ashley.

You may believe whomever you wish to …

A Pole: Not at the same time, you silly. They do drive and do sleep, but hopefully not at the same time.

Of course, you silly, and carrying your masterful thought process further and doing so without overlooking complexity – that begs the question: Were the trucks filled with “supplies ranging from food to medical supplies that are invaluable during these times” as Matt Agorist said. or were “the trucks empty waiting for loads” as Ashley said. But definitely they “cannot be both at the same time” – an oddity that you have so dialectically exposed.

Smart ass, you tell us all which. Was the “glass half full or was the glass half empty” – using an age old analogy. Call upon the high degree of sapience you seem to think you are displaying and use your divine knowledge coupled with the abundance of wisdom you have indulging in to act with mythical ability and riddle us which it was.

Can you …

Remembering of course, as you have digressed and wandered off into the wilderness – that the issue here is not whether the trucks were filled or empty, but that it has been stated that the residents called NYPD because the trucks were blocking their driveways.

Suddenly, toying with you and Herr Wächter has become more entertaining than ridiculing Deckard with the truth.

Thank you for this glorious early morning opportunity …

f anything, he may be guilty of editorializing.

Bullshit …

Editorializing is the means of inserting your own opinion – there should be no personal opinion by the author in a news article.

When editorializing does happen, a writer is either consciously or unconsciously expressing doubt, censure, praise or injecting lies into a news story.

It is not to be that persons are permitted to express an opinion in a straight news story they are writing.

When the author states an opinion by any person in the article – the quoted must definitely be attributed to the person who gave it.

News stories should always be written in the third person.

The writer’s personal opinions is never to be injected into a news story.

Facts should be reported as they are found, without personal pronouns.

Working in the news media – You should know this.

Why don’t you …

Judging from the various articles I read and when sorting through the contradicting information, what I see happened here was that the home owners NYC called in a complaint to the NYPD that big rigs were blocking their driveways in their residential area. Precinct 66 reacted and towed the vehicles in response to those complaints.

The complaints must have been lawfully valid for the NYPD to take that action. Then the stupid precinct commanded issued one of the most dumbass tweets I have ever read from any LEO. Two pro-cop web sites condemned the tweets and make comments about the tweet. There was no mention in the tweet that he was responding to the home owners complaint and the wording in his stupid tweet made it appear this was some glorified quasi tow operation. I can find no evidence to show that the pro-cop websites knew that.

An anti-cop website picked up on the local information and the original story from the first anti-cop website reverberated through all the other anti-cop websites with each site flavoring it with their own brand of bias. That is the reason Deckard said something like “others are preseting the same information.” Yes, they were parroting. None of these “dark-side” websites took the occasion to link to any media source that presented conflicting information which supported the tow operation. Instead, Matt Agorist linked to some websites far away frp, MUC and in Alabama where folks were doing yoeman’s work to assist long=haul truckers. That information had absolutely nothing to do with the op[eration in NYC. It was merely a “move” to gain “sympathetic support” ny Matt Agorist for his cop-condemning article. It is obvious that it work, judging from the response by a poster here.

And Deckard once again operated as a pimp for Matt Agorist by posting this article here …

Shameful …

An anti-cop website picked up on the local information and the original story from the first anti-cop website reverberated through all the other anti-cop websites with each site flavoring it with their own brand of bias.

Show me one link in the article that is anti-cop.

So...more than one site reported it? Good - Freedom of the press is one of the bedrock principles that real Americans hold dear.

You don't like alternative news sites?

Stick with your WSJ.

Government is in the last resort the employment of armed men, of policemen, gendarmes, soldiers, prison guards, and hangmen.
The essential feature of government is the enforcement of its decrees by beating, killing, and imprisoning.
Those who are asking for more government interference are asking ultimately for more compulsion and less freedom.

In Gatlin Bizarro World, the cops are telling the truth …
have agreed that the cops should have condemned the precinct commander for his tweet.
… yet Agorist is a liar for linking to the truthful pro-cop pages.
Matt Agorist is no liar “for linking to the truthful pro-cop pages.”

Matt Aorist is a liar for reasons unknown.

He has been proven to be on numerous occasions here of LF.

Putting aside the stupid tweet by the precinct commander which I have condemned – There are questions that need to be answered before passing judgment and condemning the NYPD.

1) Were there complaints by home owners that the big rigs were blocking their drive ways?

2) Did the NYPD follow proper departmental procedures when responding to the compalints?

3) Did the NYPD find the big rigs were indeed blocking the drive ways and in violation to NYC ordinances?

4) Is this a recurring problem for the home owners because of their proximity to a warehouse?

5) Were there “No Trucks Allowed” of the type we see in many residential areas?

6) is it a requirement by a city ordinance or by NYPD departmental procedures that a “must tow” prevision in required when answer this complaint.

When and if I can find answers to any or most of those question and the answers point to wrong doing by the NYPD – I will gladly join your crusade to crucify the NYPD for their actions here.

In the meantime, I reserve the right to condemn or assign blame.

I will not now, nor will I ever, read an article by Matt Agorist and pass judgment.

You can, you are and you will continue to do so …

You don't like alternative news sites?
Not when they present lies masquerading as the truth …
Stick with your WSJ.
I will stick with any media that has verifiable truth.

That’s indeed something you should try doing …

While I have absolutely no basis to correct you since I don’t have access to the facts, I will however politely say that I will forever need to fact-check what I read that is presented by TFTP - and especially those articles written by Matt Agorist.

Fair enough.

Let us know what you find and decide,ok?

Matt Agorist stated the trucks were full and delivering “supplies that range from food to medical supplies.”

While Ashley stated that the trucks were “empty and waiting for a load.”

We are to believe whom …

What practical difference does it make. A truck waiting to be loaded being towed means it doesn't get loaded, and it doesn't get to deliver a load.

The end result is the same.

In the entire history of the world, the only nations that had to build walls to keep their own citizens from leaving were those with leftist governments.

I know this better.

I know that an argument is defined as: “A course of reasoning aimed at demonstrating truth or falsehood."

In the study of logic and philosophy, you will find that an argument is neither a “win” or “lose” situation.

It is simply a series of profoundly complex statements called premises which are intended to determine the degree of truth of another statement.

Understanding this – then all I do, and all I have ever done, is continue to strive to superbly determine the truth.

I am doing a great job at that – I will forever continue to do that …

There was a time I used to say that a person should never
be afraid to shout out his good features and talents.
My mystical motto back then was "If you've got it, flaunt it!"
You have provided me the golden opportunity to once again shout –
“Brother – I got it, so I’m really gonna flaunt it!"
Thanks for providing me with the platform and reason.
Another idiom I favored for its blunt message of confidence is –
“if you don't toot your own horn - nobody will.”
Pay close attention now …

Pretty good – Eh …
Toot – Toot.
“Major Gatlin” …
That is not an honorary title.
It was well earned through a deliberate and obstinate desire
to be of great service to our wonderful nation..
Toot – Toot.
