There two parts to the knowledge - first, facts or information, the second is understanding. The only purpose of patents is to prevent competition from using the patented method and the motive is pecuniary. There is one exception - if you patent something for public domain. Then the objective is to secure right of use for everyone.

The sickness was already created and identified in Hong Kong, China and a growing number of countries around the world in 2003. It was “severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus – an outbreak of a virulent respiratory virus.
