Rush just announced at conclusion of his show today that he has been diagnosed with lung cancer, and will be gone a couple days.
Sad, I don't know what to say !!
Those so inclined, we should all pray for him !!!

Number of smokers cut in half? Does that include vaping? Anyways, I have been Googling regarding survival rates and it depends on how early they catch it and whether it remains local to the lungs vs. mestastisizing into other areas of the body. If still local, 5year survival rates around 60%...if it has spread, 5year survival rates drop to under 10%. Once again, prayers out to Rush...he has the fight of his life on his hands...MUD

You need to look at the number of new lung cancer cases per year. That number (per 100,000 population) has remained fairly flat. With half the people no longer smoking, you would expect that number to decrease. If there was a connection between lung cancer and smoking.
You don't think smoking and lung cancer are at all related? My grandfather smoked multiple cigars a day and lived to the ripe old age of 93, but I always assumed there us some correlation, albeit less determinative than commonly portrayed.

Rush used to joke that he was holding a paper or report in his 'formerly nicotine-stained fingers'. Inhaling cigars is as bad as inhaling cigarettes. I pray that Rush will make a miraculous recovery as he is the bright and enlightened commentary on an otherwise drab and dreary political landscape.

Mark Steyn confirmed today that Rush will be back on the air on Friday...I suppose he will give us some details on how far his cancer has progressed.
