An "intimidated" Hillary Clinton has now snubbed a process server trying to deliver Rep. Tulsi Gabbard's $50 million defamation lawsuit against her twice, an attorney for the presidential candidate says. "I find it rather unbelievable that Hillary Clinton is so intimidated by Tulsi Gabbard that she won't accept service of process," the Hawaii Democrat's attorney Brian Dunne told the New York Post. "But I guess here we are."
Dunne said his firm's process server was turned away by Secret Service agents Tuesday afternoon when trying to deliver the lawsuit to the Clintons' Chappaqua, New York, home.
The agents sent the server to Clinton's attorney David Kendall, who on Wednesday was at his Washington, D.C., firm Williams & Connolly. Kendall, however, said he was not able to accept service on his client's behalf, Dunne said, adding that his team is weighing its next steps.
Last fall, Clinton, the 2016 Democratic Party nominee, told the podcast "Campaign HQ" with David Plouffe, a former adviser to President Barack Obama, that a candidate for the Democrats' nomination was "the favorite of the Russians" and made comparisons to 2016 Green Party candidate Jill Stein.
Clinton did not specifically mention Gabbard by name, but later, when asked if the former secretary of state was referring to Gabbard, Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill replied "if the nesting doll fits," a reference to Russian nesting dolls. He later tweeted that Clinton was alluding to the Republican Party grooming Gabbard.
Gabbard maintains Clinton is targeting her because she supported Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., against her in the 2016 presidential election and because she was critical of several of Clinton's policies.
She says that as a result of Clinton's comments, she has suffered "significant actual damages" estimated to total $50 million. Clinton has refused to retract her comments.
It appears that the SS got the memo, and the message, and are honoring the bosses wishes, that " Hillary is good people, and has suffered enough ". Hillary is in " the club ". Trump is in for a rude awakening down the road. He WILL NOT be shown the same courtesy.
