Tucker Carlson was trending on Twitter when I got up and began my daily news search this morning, so I decided to check out why. What I found was a bombshell report that the Deep State toadies in our fake news media will studiously ignore. It’s a story about how the warmonger lobby in Washington DC almost led our country into a completely unjustified escalation in Syria in April of last year, and how President Donald Trump barely avoided being railroaded into it. Here is a clip of that segment, followed by a transcript:

Sarah Abdallah @sahouraxo Tucker Carlson on the 2018 chemical attack in #Syria: “America almost attacked a country and killed thousands of people over an attack that may never have happened in the first place.”

“We’ve been lied to. We’ve been manipulated. We knew it at the time.”

Embedded video 2,212 11:47 PM - Nov 25, 2019 Twitter Ads info and privacy 1,252 people are talking about this

For all of you who, like me, still like to read stuff, here’s a transcript of Tucker’s remarks:

In spite of repeated efforts to get them out, American troops remain deployed in parts of Syria. If Washington has its way, they will be there until you are old, or even longer. Forever.

But it could be worse. 19 months ago, Washington was demanding that the U.S. government topple the Assad government completely, must do it now. The justification for this was a supposed chemical weapons attack in the town of Duma. Now, no one in Washington had seen the attack. No American had seen it, nobody in congress could tell you what proof existed that the attack had actually taken place, or that Assad’s government was behind it, rather than some other faction – and there were many – involved in the country’s civil war.

But it didn’t matter that there was literally no evidence: Everybody in Washington began agitating for regime change war immediately. Immediately, and especially on the left. Bill Kristol and Max Boot and everyone at MSNBC and CNN – they were completely for it. This show was not for it. We didn’t deny the attack happened, we just told people to be skeptical.

[Plays clip from April 9, 2018]

Universal, bi-partisan agreement on anything is usually the first sign that something deeply unwise is about to happen, if only because there is nobody left to ask skeptical questions. And we should be skeptical of this, starting with the poison gas attack. All the geniuses tell us that Assad killed those children, but do they really know that?

Of course they don’t really know that – they’re making it up. They have no real idea what happened. And now the same people who brought you the dying American middle class, undefended American borders and endless, pointless wars you in countries you could not find on a map are telling the President he’s got to depose Assad for reasons that are both unclear and demonstrably dishonest.

[End clip]

You’ve gotta depose Assad immediately. Wait a second, how did it work when we deposed the last four Arab leaders? And wait a second: Didn’t the Assad government, as evil as it may be, protect all the Christians?

Shut up, they said. You’ve gotta do it now!

Well, fortunately President Trump limited his response to another wave of missile strikes rather than sending U.S. troops in to topple yet another government in the region. But now, it looks like even that response may have not been justified.

Last Spring, the official report of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, which is the group that monitors chemical weapons, said the Duma attack was caused by two chlorine gas canisters that were dropped from an airplane. That would suggest the Assad government was responsible for the attack. Ok.

But then last May, a leaked internal document showed that one of the OPCW’s top analysts disagreed with that conclusion. He thought the canisters were placed by hand, by someone on the ground. Which would make this a completely different event.

This week, WikiLeaks is publishing an email from a member of the OPCW’s fact finding team. That email accuses the organization of altering investigators’ original findings to make evidence to make evidence of an attack look more conclusive than it actually was.

[Here is a link to the WikiLeaks OPCW Document in question.]

Sound familiar? Yeah, we’ve seen this movie before, with tragic consequences.

Yet another OPCW whistleblower has argued that on-the-ground evidence points against an attack happening at all.

So, in other words, America almost attacked another country, which would have killed untold thousands of people, over an “attack” that may never have happened in the first place. That powerful people may very well be lying about.

Under a different president – and whatever you think of Trump, this is true – under a different president, say, Hillary Clinton, being advised by the Obama foreign policy team – Samantha Power, and a lot of people like Samantha Power with long track records of unwise and indeed stupid decision making – under that administration we probably would have invaded.

[Segment turns to interview with Jonathan Steele, a chief foreign policy correspondent with The Guardian. It repeats the points Tucker just made.]

[End of transcript.]

This is a big deal. This is real news – news of a clear false flag effort by elements in the DC Swamp warmonger lobby to trick a United States president into launching yet another full-scale regime change war in yet another Middle Eastern nation.

Because it is real news, news that reveals even more of Washington’s corrupt establishment, it will be ignored by the mainstream media, since they pretty much all serve as the megaphones for the DC Swamp.

Be glad Donald Trump was your President last April and remains in office today. Because if he wasn’t, we’d have had another steady stream of young American men and women returning home from another God-forsaken Middle Eastern country in body bags for no reason whatsoever over the last 19 months, and no end in sight.

This, in fact, is why Donald Trump was elected in the first place. God bless him and keep him safe.

That is all.

On the one hand, you have an official report signed by named investigators. On the other, some anonymous, cowardly "whistleblowers" who spring up like weeds with no evidence to the contrary expecting us to believe them because shut up.

I'm getting real tired of this bullshit. Stand up in public, give us a) your name, b) your credentials, and c) actual proof that something else happened. Without that, STFU.

This is why the Republican Establishment hates Trump: his foreign policy of accommodation with Russia and trying to make deals to restore peace, his foreign policy of throttling trade with taxes, as necessary, to bring China and other countries within the rule of law, and his foreign policy of stopping the flow of cheap exploitable labor before it crosses the border.

This foreign policy hits the military-industrial complex in the pocketbook (if there's no Cold War or hot wars, defense budgets can drop by half or more), and hits business in the pocketbook (what, you have to pay Americans LEGAL wages (and the payroll taxes on those wages?), to do those jobs, but look at all of that illegal PROFIT lost to wages!, and it hit the intelligence and defense professionals whose titles, position and authority was based on the need to maintain a huge, always-ready war footing against the Soviet Union. Three generations grew up in a hierarchy CREATED to fight the USSR globally, and when that enemy faded, to retain the jobs and structures and hierarchy, and all of that power, required that there be a dragon there to slay. Russia simply isn't that, for all of the efforts to make it out to be. China isn't either. Radical Islam is as nasty as anything could want, but its forces are weak, and lend themselves to destruction by small teams of individuals, not heavy equipment and integrated systems that cost so much.

Trump isn't an Isolationist, but the effect of what he is doing, as his policies roll out, is cooling everything down and simply making the whole national security establishment less important, and smaller-bore. There's a place for John Boltons in a world of Westmorelands and McNamaras, Rumsfelds and Rices and Cheneys...not so much in today's world.

That Cold War apparatus seeks to preserve its existence by finding a use. Trump has a different use for the money that goes into those structures. It's two different world visions. The Cold Warriors are furious Trump wants peace with Russia.

Tucker Carlson is a true treasure. There are others, like Solomon, Carter, Horowitz and Rush. Number one today, is Tucker, he most closely tracks my idea of a truth teller, and the guts to spill them.

THIS IS A TAG LINE...Exercising rights is only radical to two people, Tyrants and Slaves. Which are YOU? Our ignorance has driven us into slavery and we do not recognize it.

I completely agree with your analysis. The only change I would make is to drop the work Republican from the first sentence, for it is the bipartisan Establishment (known as the War Party by some observers) that hates what Trump is doing.

Yes, it is true that it is bipartisan. But the Republicans and Democrats are toxic in different ways because of their different voter bases, and different donor bases. The efforts to make them both two fruits on the same vine are simplistic and untrue. They are two different fruit trees, bearing different fruits, but next to each other on the same plot of ground. - an apple tree and a pear tree, perhaps.

The Defense Establishment, in particular, is much, much more heavily invested in the GOP than in the Democratic party. The tech establishment, the reverse. Lots of money from both, but the Democrats don't mind cutting programs at the margins or whose cost interferes with some alpha social agenda, while the Republicans will defend every sort of weapons program.

Each party has its niche, and they do fight over budget. But yes, there is a general consensus among, say, the Hillary/Biden/Obama/Clinton wing of the Democrats, and the Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Reagan wing of the Republicans. The Bernie wing of the Democrats and the Trump wing of the Republicans are not part of the game, and offensive to the aforementioned wings of the Democrats and Republicans. NeverTrump Republicans hate Trump, and have tried to bring him down, every bit as much as Democrats have.

On its face, I find it pretty ludicrous for anyone to suggest Assad used chem weapons on that day, and maybe not any other day, at least in the later stages of the war as we was winning with Russia's help. Using chem weapons at that time was a far greater strategic liability than asset. You can say Assad is a murderous tyrant, but saying he's as smart as a box of rocks is clearly taking a vacation from reality.

There are numerous fact that should raise eyebrows:

1) A prior incident supposed Assad used chem weapons just a couple days after Sec of State Tillerson announced the US was no longer seeking regime change in Syria. Why would Assad time things so stupidly right after achieving a major concession from the US? Why wouldn't the rebels be far more motivated to do it to frame Assad?

2) After all Russia suffered from the fallout from the Skripal chem poisoning in the UK (for which I also find dubious the assumption it was Russia), how likely is that Assad would make life even more miserable for the only man on the planet who backs him and to whom he owes his life by using chem weapons? Would Assad use chem weapons knowing full well that Putin would have hell to pay for it in the international arena?

3) Assad uses chem weapons "on his own people" presumably because he doesn't like their politics. As a result, due to the fatalities, some 25 or 100 fewer votes are cast for the opposition in the next election. Does that come close to making any sense at all?

4) Given the known fallout from using chem weapons being in the form of missile attacks from the US, France and the UK directed toward Assad, the party with the highest motivation to use chem weapons are the rebels, provided they can blame any attack on Assad. War is hell, and in war, those on the losing side will take drastic measures, and using chem weapons to put the might of the US military on the enemy is very well worth the death of several dozen civilians. In the minds of those desperate as they lose a war, this qualifies as: Not A Problem!

So I've always been doubtful that Assad has used chem weapons. At least since Russia entered the war effort. It's totally bass-ackwards to suggest otherwise, but too many people simply accept the mainstream narrative without applying any critical thought whatsoever.

So this contrary account that exonerates Assad is completely credible.

What if "something else" means that NOTHING happened? How can you prove it?

Can you prove that you DID NOT molest minors?

By disproving the facts and witnesses who claim otherwise.
