The proposal will include $25 billion for struggling states and provide funding increases for programs at the Department of Energy, the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation and the Census Bureau. It will also provide more funds for the military, but spending at NASA, the Army Corps of Engineers and certain other agencies will be kept at $447 billion annually through 2013. That will lead to a savings of $10 billion in the coming fiscal year. How am I supposed to believe that electing more Republicans will fix the problem when the GOP position is "no cuts to medicare, increase defense spending, don't touch SS, and cut taxes" Do the laws of math not apply? To: go65 (#5) Again, the GOP has nothing to do with this, and you well know I voted against the GOP in 2006 over the insane spending. Your 'supposed' to be honest about writing checks on money we the people don't have. The DEmocrats have complete and total power over budget matters at the Federal Level, they have had this since JANUARY OF 2007. The deficits have TRIPLED in that time frame. Thats why they're losing elections now, in large part. That and double digit unemployment, a healthcare bill 80% of the American People don't want, and increased taxation. Throw in the insanity of KSM, which DEMOCRATS are against...
