State Department investigators probing Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server as secretary of state discovered nearly 600 security incidents that violated agency policy, according to a report the Daily Caller News Foundation obtained.

The investigation, conducted by the State Department’s Bureau of Diplomatic Security, found 38 individuals were culpable for 91 security violations. Another 497 violations were found, but no individuals were found culpable in those incidents.

The investigation concluded Sept. 6, and the report was issued Sept. 13.

The investigation sought to determine if the exchange of emails on Clinton’s server “represented failure to properly safeguard classified information” and whether any individuals at State were culpable for any of the failures. (RELATED: State Department Reboots Hillary Clinton Email Probe)

Clinton exchanged more than 60,000 emails on a private email account hosted on a server that she kept at her residence in New York. She emailed frequently with longtime aides Huma Abedin, Cheryl Mills, Jake Sullivan, and an outside adviser, Sidney Blumenthal.

The FBI investigated whether Clinton mishandled classified information by using the server. Former FBI Director James Comey announced July 5, 2016, that he would not be recommending charges against Clinton over the server, though he did say she was “extremely careless” in using an off-the-books email system.

(Photo by Alex Wong/Getty Images) The FBI determined that thousands of the emails on Clinton’s server contained some level of classified information. Some of those emails were found to have information classified as top secret, the highest level of classification.

State Department investigators reviewed all of Clinton’s emails, obtained hundreds of statements, and conducted dozens of in-person interviews with current and former State Department officials, according to the report.

Investigators determined personal email use to conduct official State Department business “represented an increased risk of unauthorized disclosure.” Clinton’s use of the private server “added an increased degree of risk of compromise as a private system lacks the network monitoring and intrusion detection capabilities of State Department networks,” the report stated.

Investigators said there was “no persuasive evidence” of “systemic, deliberate mishandling of classified information.”

One reason that investigators were unable to assign culpability in the 497 incidents was because of the duration of the investigation. Many of the subjects of the probe, including Clinton and her circle of aides, has left the State Department by the time the investigation began.

Sure. But it isn't much news unless the DoJ prosecutes them all.

But the laws are only meant to be enforced on the little guys, the unimportant people. Not the powerful and well-connected.

I don't think Barr has the guts to prosecute any of them. Yet I do think he could quite easily. There are several weasels in this list that the FBI could nail to the wall and flip them to testify against the others. Barr could roll up the entire cabal. But he won't do it.

So it's all kind of a joke, just some partisan folderol.

I think it depends in part on what they do to Trump. Trump is accused of some nothingburger stuff, but they are actually going to proceed to impeach him over it. Trump should direct scorched earth - using all of the files on all of the politicians, and crucify them all. We have a legal system that it is impossible to live within without committing crimes every day. If one party (the Democrats) chooses to employ that fact to attempt to overthrow an elected President, said elected President, being the nation's chief law enforcer, should abuse the hell out of his power and prosecute all of his opponents using the same relentless inquisitorial standards that are being used on him. I doubt there is a single major figure in Washington who can withstand that level of scrutiny.

Given our system, politics has always been a sport of M.A.D. Since his opponents decided to "go nuclear", Trump needs to as well; he has the greater arsenal.

Power is always abused to a degree. If the Democrats are going to start holding Republican Presidents accountable for that, it's time for Republican Presidents to return the favor and turn American government into a never ending partisan witch hunt. Once that game begins in earnest, it's a short route to a one-party state, and the victor will be the President in power at the time that the war breaks out.

Nancy Pelosi actually gets this, which is why she won't allow the house floor vote on impeachment. She knows that going there is crossing the Rubicon, and unlike her naive and overly enthusiastic cohorts, she knows what the President can do in retaliation, and the price the Democrats will pay if they go there.

Sessions had all the evidence he needed. So does Barr. They won't act.

I think Trump is powerless to force his AG's to do anything they don't want to do.

And you have weak sister John Roberts on the Court to present even more concerns if you did proceed. Such cases would almost certainly end up before the Court and they would find it very hard to refuse to hear them. It's exactly the kind of political issues that the Court hates because they are not in any way supposed to be political or perceived as political. It's a weakness of the American legal system.
