If you've watched the original flick of Mary Poppins (and didn't quite understand it THEN), it turns out the recently released update of the same movie reveals a dark side and narrative. (WHO KNEW??) (Brief Recap): Well-dressed, well-spoken woman drifts onto earth via umbrella supernaturally, and into the lives of somebody's children as a "Nanny." She performs various acts of magic, dispenses "medicine" (which is swallowed without question), and generally defies all matters of the Natural World. The folksy Owen Benjamin takes an entertaining, provacative crack at reviewing, ad libbing, and critiquing it after watching it with his family (and two young boys.)
Poster Comment: Do you remembering watching this movie as a kid? Did you understand the plot? I think it was the songs/music that's what we might recall. In case you aren't familiar with Owen Benjamin, here is a brief but necessary introduction and great story... Benjamin was once a rising star and comedian in Hollywood, having "made it" as he participated in shows, hob-nobbed with A-Listers and even hosting award shows. That was UNTIL he he shocked the people who run the scene by refusing to be coerced into publicly believing what *they* believed. When Benjamin refused to surrender his soul and yield to Hollywood's requisite oaths to publicly support LGBTQXYZ marriage and crusade, abortion, and all of its perversions, he instantly became a pariah. Having rapidly climbed up the ladder, he immediately lost his financial windfall and wealth, his Hollywood connections and friends, and of course, sacrificed his entire career. He was promptly blackballed. Everyone he was "friends" with suddenly cut him off and shunned him. But there was great news -- as a result of Hollywood's ex-communication, he had an epiphany. It caused Owen Benjamin to look inward, to be introspective. He saw Hollywood for what it was -- soul-stealing (literally), demonic, whoring, liars, phony, and evil. More importantly, Benjamin went from being an Atheist-Agnostic to being a Christian and truth-seeker who enjoys married life and his children on a farm and the simple things -- as well as blessings in life. He also enjoys interacting with others online where he dispenses his thoughts and broad observations on life and this world -- often with a great sense of humor and perspective. Benjamin and his conversations/observations are often controversial -- few subjects are off-limits -- but he is honest. Sharing Truth with others and reminding others of what truly is important in life is his primary objective. 'Owen Benjamin "Highlights"' is an abbreviated version of much longer sessions of subjects riffed on line with an audience, which included feedback. It is spontaneous and unrehearsed. I highly recommend checking out his material.

He's a phony comedian. A poor knockoff of old Seinfeld routines from the Nineties. The problem is that he isn't funny. He had a part in some minor sitcom about 10 years ago and it's been a nosedive for his career ever since. Now he's got a career on the skids and he's decided he's a big Christian and wants to "research" the flat earth stuff. And appear at their kook confabs. And keep them on the hook, hoping that some celeb will bestow upon them their favor. Aaron Paul led them down the garden path a few years ago, only to heap scorn on them and come out instead as a devout Rounder. They were so hopeful that some YouBoob celeb would come out on their side, only for him show up at their kook conference to "come out" but then to instead dash their hopes on the rocks and stomp them into bloody rubbish. I don't know about astonished anymore...I had a "gay Jewish lawyer converted to celibate Catholic" guy help me immensely with the landlord/tenant legal dispute many years ago. When he converted to Catholicism he took charity quite seriously and worked endless hours for many folks. Why is my comment irony? You highly recommend a guy named Owen Benjamin. I check out his Youtube channel. Low and behold there is a flat earth video. I watch it. Seven minutes in, Benjamin, the guy you highly recommend, drops a bomb. The flat earthers are "culty" like "CIA shit". Do you agree with his assessment regarding flat earthers? Do you still highly recommend him?

By my calculation assuming that his salary per episode was $50,000, earnings just from TV alone would have been #3-4 million. Yet his net worth is listed as 800K. I found that interesting
Government is in the last resort the employment of armed men, of policemen, gendarmes, soldiers, prison guards, and hangmen. He had a few small supporting roles in cable sitcoms, the rest were web series. He really is not a TV star or a real celebrity. I doubt any of us, including Liberator, ever heard of him before he started teasing the Flattards that he might have Flattist sympathies. Which, as we know, excites them to no end.

Watchman, if you're only going to listen ONLY to conversations of those with whom agree -- and immediately judge them at that -- how can you be sure that judgement is correct?

Let's just examine these videos by/about Owen Benjamin. He talks like a nutjob. Many people suspect he has become a meth or Adderall user, living with his family in isolation. This is a podcast he did where he was doing drugs with a couple of podcasters, shortly after this he moved to rural NY state and disappeared. This was the beginning of his bizarre behavior and cutting off contact with everyone. Here he is on a Muslim podcast, blaming Jews for everything and praising Islam to the skies, denouncing the common view that Islam is a haven of religious terrorism. Here he is. More of OB with a known antisemite. Lots of what seems like drug-addled grinning and attempts to focus as this nutjob is spewing a set of classic antisemitic attacks on this podcast. I think he is far gone in CTs and drug use and has acquired a paranoid delusion. Something about him makes me think that one day soon, we are likely to read reports of how he killed his family and himself. He seems like a family obliterater type.
