No one is ever going to confuse MSNBC afternoon anchor Katy Tur for an objective news reporter, but even for the kind of half-partisan pundits/half-news anchor mutants that populate today’s cable channels, there is expected to be some semblance of truth telling, right? Yeah, you of course choose what to report, how to report it, and what facts to conveniently leave out. Yeah, you can bring on a series of guests to confirm the story you want to tell about the news of the day. You can do a thousand things with your little broadcast. But you can’t just outright lie to your viewers. “This is one of the most deceptive pieces of reporting I have ever seen,” tweeted Jason Howerton on Wednesday, linking to a segment from Tur’s show. “Literally, @KatyTurNBC, you’re better than this. This is deliberate misleading of an audience. My gosh, issue a correction.” The segment in question involved Tur’s analysis of the Trump/Ukraine scandal (the new and improved version of the debunked Trump/Russia scandal). Here’s what she said: “What there is proof of and what there is a paper trail of, because the White House just released it, is a summary or notes of a conversation the President had with the man that was sitting to his right, the president of Ukraine. Where he said, ‘will you do me and investigate Vice President Biden’s son? Will you do me a favor and get involved in the 2020 election, Vice President Biden is my chief political opponent.’ At that point he was leading Donald Trump quite a lot in the polls.” Now let’s compare Tur’s ridiculous “quote” from the phone call with the actual transcript, shall we? Let’s take a look at what was actually said: “I heard you had a prosecutor who was very good and he was shut down and that’s really unfair,” Trump told President Zelensky. “A lot of people are talking about that, the way they shut your very good prosecutor down and you had some very bad people involved. Mr. Giuliani is a highly respected man. He was the mayor of New York City, a great mayor, and I would like him to call you. I will ask him to call you along with the Attorney General. Rudy very much knows what’s happening and he is a very capable guy. If you could speak to him that would be great. “The other thing,” Trump continued. “There’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you ·can look into it. It sounds horrible to me.” Do you see anywhere in this transcript Trump asking Zelensky to investigate Biden’s son? Do you see him asking Zelensky to “get involved in the 2020 election”? Do you see him informing Zelensky that Biden is his “chief political opponent”? No. No you do not. The fake news is coming fast on this Ukraine fiasco. Keep your head down (and your pants rolled up).
Poster Comment: Biden and Son have millions of dollars in ill-gotten loot Jail all who work only to defeat President Trump! These people involved (and there are thousands in Washington) should be sent to prison for mal and misfeasance.

The former ambassador from the United States, the woman, was bad news and the people she was dealing with in the Ukraine were bad news so I just want to let you know that. The other thing, There's a lot of talk about Biden's son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it... It sounds horrible to me.
