Ummm, I dunno. It was cookin' right along until the vocals started up. Might have been better as an instrumental. But I never get tired of this song, from almost any cover.

I've been mulling over picking up the Checkboard Lounge recordings and have a small pile of Amazon digital credits burning a hole in my digital pocket, so just might pop for it.
Bought the armadillo Kottke album back in the '70s as I recall (and later another copy for my Dad), and one or two more after; I agree with you - his instrumental tracks ring my bell louder. "Best of Instrumentals" is his only digital album in my collection.
