Obama Wars Title: Mattis Claims Iran’s 'Act Of War' Got A "Tepid Response" from Obama Because Of The Nuclear Deal President Trump’s former Defense Secretary James Mattis drops a huge bombshell in his new book by calling out the Obama administration on their lame response to what Mattis considered Iran’s “act of war”, The “act of war” that Mattis mentions is the planned bombing of Cafe Milano in Washington, D.C. Here’s how Mattis describes it in his book: “Had the bomb gone off, those in the restaurant and on the street would have been ripped apart, blood rushing down sewer drains. It would have been the worst attack on us since 9/11.” “I sensed that only Iran’s impression of America’s impotence could have led them to risk such an act within a couple of miles of the White House. Absent one fundamental mistake…the terrorists had engaged an undercover DEA agent in an attempt to smuggle the bomb…the Iranians would have pulled off this devastating attack.” “Had that bomb exploded, it would have changed history.” The Washington Examiner reported on Mattis’ book, where the former Defense Secretary describes how as the leader of U.S. Central Command (2010-2013), he repeatedly warned the Obama administration about Iran and Sunni Islamist terrorists. Mattis gives the reason for the Obama administration’s restraint on Iran: “In my view, we had to hold Iran to account and strike back when attacked. But there was a reason for the administration’s restraint. The administration was secretly negotiating with Iran, although I was not privy to the details at the time.” Mattis believes his reaction to the plan to bomb the cafe contributed to his firing by Obama. He wanted to retaliate against Iran but Obama opposed the plan. Mattis believes the tepid response to an ‘act of war’ on emboldened Iran. Poster Comment: Mattis refuses to go after Trump due to deference toward the office of a currently serving president. He has no such qualms here on going after 0dinga's criminal dereliction as commander-in-chief in responding to a serious advanced plot to bomb Americans in our nation's capitol city. And 0bama fired Mattis for his disagreement on this matter.
