LF: Drinking Soda Hut! Hut! Hut!

A guy drinking a can of soda is almost Hut! Hut! Hutted! by a pair of armed government workers dressed to the nines in the very latest police state gear – multiple magazines at the ready; body armor. Taser mounted quick-draw-style and at the ready.

This is the country we now live in now. One in which people can’t even walk down the sidewalk without heavily armed government goons accosting them. These two evince the contempt for the people they “serve” and “keep safe” by mocking the man for expressing concern about being confronted by a pair of armed thugs with a literal license to kill.

Ask yourself what form of two-legged cockroach would perform such “work” – and behave this way. These two are exactly the sort who would kick down doors to “secure” no-longer-allowed firearms; would herd people into busses.

And much worse.

When I was a kid probably 99 percent of the cops in the US carried a 38 Special with a 4 inch barrel.

Someone smarter than me needs to do a serious study as to the cause and effect of all these changes,including ALL the changes in society as well as law enforcement over the decades.

I am betting the BEST place to start would be looking into the attitudes at home,including teaching the children to act responsibly. Back when I was a kid,if a kid acted up it was generally believed to be the fault of the parent as well as the child,not "the system". I am not a betting man,but I would be willing to bet than an HONEST appraisal would put the root cause as the individual family units not teaching their children they would be held responsible for their actions.

IOW,the SWAT Team patrol cop of today are a response to bad parenting,and the saddest part about it is that both the cops and the parents are now responsible for how far this has escalated. The average cop of today is a total "wear red and march in a straight line" asshole,and the average kid is just a asshole. We can excuse this a little in the kid BECAUSE he is a kid,but it is MY opinion that MOST of the patrol cops are overreacting because the police brass love playing dressup as Army Generals fighting wars. That's why you see so many of them wearing stars.

BTW,no honest "look" at the changes in society would be worth a damn that didn't take a serious look at the "militarization" of every police force in the nation. Cops USED to look at themselves as "peacemakers". Today they look at themselves as soldiers fighting a war against crime. BIG difference in the mindset,and this starts at the top with the top cops falling in love with wearing stars and getting surplus war equipment.
