ntroduction

Since the Houthi Ansar Allah movement's 2015 takeover of Yemen's capital Sana'a and other parts of the country, the Houthis have adopted extremist curricula glorifying jihad and martyrdom and emphasizing hatred for the U.S., Israel, and the Jews. One method of indoctrination is inculcating the Houthi motto "Death to America, Death to Israel, Cursed be the Jews, Victory to Islam" in children attending schools and summer camps controlled by the Houthis.[1] This motto is also promoted by the Houthi children's magazine Jihad.

Furthermore, children in these frameworks are exposed to anti-U.S. incitement, including in activities involving stepping on the U.S. flag, memorizing texts calling for jihad against the U.S., and more. They are also exposed to cultural activity promoting martyrdom such as Martyrs Week and visits to graves of Houthis killed in the war. These educational programs are aimed at encouraging them to join the Houthi fighters – and it is reported that since 2014 over 15,000 children have done just that.[2]

This report will review Houthi indoctrination of children in Yemen.

Passage For Reading Aloud In Schoolbook For Houthi Summer Camp: When A Nation Loves Martyrdom, Its Enemies Cannot Frighten It

A schoolbook used at summer camps for 2019 includes a passage to be read aloud which has the children repeat phrases praising martyrdom and jihad:

"The martyrs are seekers of justice. They devote themselves to the torments of death for the sake of justice everywhere."

"Jihad is one of the gates to Paradise which Allah has opened for his most beloved."

"Martyrdom is the immense honor granted by Allah to his beloved believers."

"When a nation loves martyrdom, its enemies have nothing which can frighten it."

"The martyrs have promoted an exalted Islam which rejects oppression and does not create men who surrender to tyranny or worship falsehood."

"The motto [i.e. 'Death to America, Death to Israel, Cursed be the Jews, Victory to Islam'] is a declaration of a stand against the enemies of Allah that clarifies that we consider them enemies and arouses rage against America and Israel."[3]

Another Passage For Reading Aloud: Jihad Is "Immense Grace" Through Which U.S., Israel, And Their Agents Will Be Vanquished

The same schoolbook features another passage to be read aloud by the children, titled "Jihad for the Sake of Allah," which states: "Jihad for the sake of Allah is one of the gates to Paradise... It is immense grace. Allah has commanded jihad for His sake and promised us assistance and support, as is written in the Quran [22:40]: '...And Allah will surely support those who support Him...' Through jihad for the sake of Allah, the mujaheed believer [Muslim] is granted Allah's satisfaction and achieves greatness, victory, support, or martyrdom for the sake of Allah, to be able to live close to Allah [and enjoy] high status, and to enter Paradise.

"Through jihad, the believers [Muslims] vanquish their enemies – America, Israel, and their agents – and the homelands are freed of the tyrants and criminals. Through [jihad,] the truth will triumph and the lie will lose and be vanquished. Let us embark upon jihad for the sake of Allah so that we will be among His supporters!"

The children are then asked to answer the following questions: "What is the most immense grace? Has Allah commanded us to go out to wage jihad for His sake? What did Allah promise us if we wage jihad for His sake? How do we achieve greatness and victory? What do the martyrs [who die] for Allah receive?"[4]

They are nasty ingrates, after all this humanitarian bombings we gifted them, they hate us.

If they don't shape up and stop being so sassy, maybe we'll just stop bombing them and save our multi-million dollar bombs for people who appreciate them more.

That'll teach those ingrate savages.

The Houthi are the Shi'a side (minions of Iran). Iran and the Saudis are fighting a brutal proxy war in Yemen.

America has indeed bombed in Yemen. By far, it was 0bama who ordered it.

Wiki: Yemen: Al Qaeda
In January 2009, the Saudi Arabian and Yemeni al-Qaeda branches merged to form Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, which is based in Yemen, and many of its members were Saudi nationals who had been released from Guantanamo Bay.[236] Saleh released 176 al-Qaeda suspects on condition of good behaviour, but terrorist activities continued.

The Yemeni army launched a fresh offensive against the Shia insurgents in 2009, assisted by Saudi forces. Tens of thousands of people were displaced by the fighting. A new ceasefire was agreed upon in February 2010. However, by the end of the year, Yemen claimed that 3,000 soldiers had been killed in renewed fighting. The Shia rebels accused Saudi Arabia of providing support to salafi groups to suppress Zaidism in Yemen.[237]

On orders from U.S. President Barack Obama, U.S. warplanes fired cruise missiles at what officials in Washington claimed were Al Qaeda training camps in the provinces of Sana'a and Abyan on 17 December 2009.[238] Instead of hitting Al-Qaeda operatives, it hit a village, killing 55 civilians.[239] Officials in Yemen said that the attacks claimed the lives of more than 60 civilians, 28 of them children. Another airstrike was carried out on 24 December.[240]

The U.S. launched a series of drone attacks in Yemen to curb a perceived growing terror threat due to political chaos in Yemen.[241] Since December 2009, U.S. strikes in Yemen have been carried out by the U.S. military with intelligence support from the CIA.[242] The drone strikes are protested by human-rights groups who say they kill innocent civilians, and that the U.S. military and CIA drone strikes lack sufficient congressional oversight, including the choice of human targets suspected of being threats to America.[243] Controversy over U.S. policy for drone attacks mushroomed after a September 2011 drone strike in Yemen killed Anwar al-Awlaki and Samir Khan, both U.S. citizens.[244] Another drone strike in October 2011 killed Anwar's teenaged son, Abdulrahman al-Awlaki.

In 2010, the Obama administration policy allowed targeting of people whose names are not known. The U.S. government increased military aid to $140 million in 2010.[245] U.S. drone strikes continued after the ousting of President Saleh.[246]

As of 2015, Shi'a Houthis are fighting against the Islamic State,[247] Al Qaeda,[248] and Saudi Arabia.[249] The U.S. supports the Saudi-led military intervention in Yemen against the Houthis,[250] but many in US SOCOM reportedly favor Houthis, as they have been an effective force to roll back al-Qaeda and recently ISIL in Yemen.[251] The Guardian reported that "The only groups poised to benefit from the war dragging on are the jihadis of Islamic State (ISIL) and al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), the latter's most powerful franchise, who are likely to gain influence amid the chaos. ISIL has claimed recent, bloody suicide bombings in Houthi mosques and Sana'a when it once had no known presence in the country, while AQAP has continued to seize territory in eastern Yemen unhindered by American drone strikes."[252] In February 2016 Al-Qaeda forces and Saudi-led coalition forces were both seen fighting Houthi rebels in the same battle.[253]

In June of 2019, the leader of ISIS in Yemen, Abu Osama al-Muhajir, was captured by the Saudi Arabian-led intervention in Yemen supported by the United States during a raid in the province of al-Mahra.[254] The operation included Yemeni security forces and recovered a number of weapons, ammunition, computers, money in different currencies and communications equipment. It did not injure any civilians.

0bama, your hero of socialist values, directly ordered bombings resulting in the deaths of 55 civilians. He was allegedly trying to kill Al Qaeda terrorists but perhaps that is just his excuse for committing war crimes against civilians.

So you would prefer that America stay out and let Al Qaeda develop a power base in Yemen and threaten to take over Saudi Arabia as well? Is that what you want, A Hole?

You are ranting, raving and insulting. An indirect admission that you lost the argument.

You know very well, how so called Al Qaeda developed.
