Headnote: In a non-news event, unposted and of no particular interest, Senator Grassley released documentary proof that nearly all of the 30,000+ deleted emails of Hillary Clinton were sent to CarterHeavyIndustries@gmail.com, an email account linked to Paul Combetta, Hillary's BleachBit expert. Combetta said he sent all of her emails to the Gmail account as part of trying to copy them to a new server. Because that's the way IT experts copy that sort of highly classified information. I am sure experts here can confirm that when they move email, they routinely park it all in some gmail account. Bye the bye, BleachBit would not disappear stuff parked out in the cloud.

    Sandusky was sent to prison for violating federal law. As the 9th Circuit found, in a July 2, 2010, interview, Sandusky acknowledged that marijuana "[was] still an illegal drug" and that he could go jail.

  • Cops Still Love Their Armored Vehicles

    U.S. News & World Report discovered the program and noted that "police forces are increasingly turning away from developing trust … and opting instead for arsenals of assault rifles, concussion grenades and the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles, or MRAPs, that have become ubiquitous to the U.S. military presence in Iraq and Afghanistan." ...

    But the military has extensive experience running these vehicles, even if none of the branches of the armed forces seems to have established a consistent model for estimating ongoing expenses. Annual repair parts alone run at least $15,930 per MRAP, according to a 2010 Naval Postgraduate School thesis. Fuel, labor, spares, overhauls, and the like add tens of thousands of dollars to that tab.

    It may just be possible that running a vehicle on military missions in Iraq or Afghanistan is a tad more expensive than running an MRAP in Cottonwood, AZ.

    Of course we have a right to revolution. Who gives a shit about the United States Constitution and United States law when there are State constitutions and natural law?

    Natural law pertains to living in a state of nature, like Tarzan and Jane. Libertarians wallow in make believe utopian natural law.

    Natural law. This expression, "natural law,” or jus naturale, was largely used in the philosophical specula­tions of the Roman jurists of the Antonine age, and was intended to denote a system of rules and principles for the guidance of human conduct which, independently of enacted law or of the systems peculiar to any one people, might be discovered by the rational intelligence of man, and would be found to grow out of and conform to his nature, meaning by that word his whole mental, moral, and physical constitution. The point of departure for this conception was the Stoic doctrine of a life ordered "according to nature,” which in its turn rested upon the purely supposititious existence, in primitive times, of a "state of nature;” that is, a condition of society in which men universally were governed solely by a rational and consistent obedience to the needs, impulses, and prompt­ings of their true nature, such nature being as yet undefaced by dishonesty, falsehood, or indulgence of the baser passions. In ethics, it consists in practical univer­sal judgments which man himself elicits.     Everyone knows that Natural Law takes precedence over the United States Constitution, just as State constitutions are the highest law of the land. /s

    Well, almost everyone. There was that saying attributed to Chief Justice Salmon Portland Chase which said that "states rights died at Appomattox." And there was the famed Confederate attorney, Albert T. Bledsoe, A.M., LL.D. During the war, Confederate Col. Bledsoe was sent to London to research legal issues relative to the war. In 1866, Bledsoe published his book, Is Davis a Traitor? in which he argued that secession was lawful prior to the War Between the States. Republished without textual change in 1915 as, The War Between the States, or, Was Secession a Constitutional Right Previous to the War of 1861-65? Bledsoe's preface to his book is germane:

    It is not the design of this book to open the subject of secession. The subjugation of the Southern States, and their acceptace of the terms dictated by the North, may, if the reader please, be considered as having shifted the Federal Government from the basis of compact to that of conquest; and thereby extinguished every claim to the right of secession for the future.

    State sovereignty was explicitly proclaimed in the Articles of Confederation. Several of the original states proclaimed sovereignty in their ratifying documents for the Constitution.

    Self determination of citizenship was a key and defining issue of state sovereignty. Prior to the post-war amendments, U.S. citizenship was acquired through citizenship in a state, with states determining citizenship. That was terminated by the 14th Amendment which states, "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside." A change in residence from California to Texas makes one a citizen of Texas. The state has no say in the matter.

    The right to revolution lives on in the minds of philosophers, anarchists, and libertarians. It's a right which says that if you have the power to do it, you can overthrow the government. Of course, if said power is overestimated, and the effort fails, the assumed right is just a crime for which one may be executed.

    Death in the health care system due to FDA-approved medical drugs, or mistreatment and errors in hospitals, is "mass murder" by the government. Or perhaps this claim is a slight case of hyperbole, exaggeration, overstatement, embroidery, embellishment, or rhetorical overkill.
