Yes, that is Amy Goldman of Goldman/Sachs. Goldman Sachs was founded in New York in 1869 by Marcus Goldman. Amy Goldman's father, Sol, was a real estate investor in NYC, one of the biggest. Apparently they have the same last name but are not related, at least not in the last 150 years. At least, I can find no mention of it. Not everyone named Goldman is related to the Marcus Goldman family. Goldman is a pretty common name, mostly among Jewish families from Germany but that doesn't make them all closely related. Marcus Goldman was nothing special back in Germany and made good only after immigrating to the States in 1848, an era of revolution across Europe. Who is like unto the beast, indeed. Actually, Godzilla is a lot like the beast Leviathan, a sea creature so large that no one had ever seen both its head and tail. Bel and the dragon is an apocryphal legend. So we have mentions of huge sea creatures in the OT and mentions of something we call a 'dragon' which have been largely relegated to the Apocrypha. I'm not sure how many Jews still expect to see a Leviathan, other than another Godzilla movie retread. We had another one out of Hollyweird just this year. Or how many Christians expect to see a dragon in the sea. Or any dragon at all other than a CGI dragon in some movie. There was more info back when the story came out...mostly forum stuff. That's where I first noticed the connection. That's where I first noticed the connection. During the Ellis Island era, people who didn't speak English were often just assigned a name by immigration officials. Some chose some variety of an English name that sounded like their family name. Others chose names nothing like their original names. During WW I when anti-German sentiment ran high, some German families changed their names due to wanting no connection at all to Germany. After all, at some point, the Drumpf family became the Trumps. DJT's grandfather was a Drumpf but his father Fred, born in America, was always a Trump. And there's nothing very sinister about it. It takes a lot of research to have any idea about the original family names of most Americans. Severing the relationship of immigrants to their old family names actually encouraged people to embrace assimilation. And it worked pretty well. Or, you could move to a melting pot like NYC where one's ethnicity and ancestry is a constant topic of conversation. Once a certain ethnic group gets to know you and like you they'll pull you in and make you "family".
