Paul Sperry at Real Clear Investigations: IG Horowitz is Set to Report That Comey Deliberately Lied to, Spied on President Trump, While Claiming In Congressional Testimony That There Was No Investigation Into Trump

Pine-Scented Druid Philosopher and Barkless Ent James Comey lied to the President and might well have lied to Congress, under oath.

Lying to your constitutional superior officer to undertake an illegal investigation into him is a fireable offense, of course, meaning Comey knew from the start that Trump was justified in firing him and his successful lobbying for a Special Prosecutor was unjustified and entirely self-serving.

But lying to Congress? That's criminal.

At least it's a criminal offense for those not members of the Inner Party.

Comey created a special non-fireable spy position to spy on Trump. And when that guy finally did get let go, he sent in another spy!

Two U.S. officials briefed on the inspector general's investigation of possible FBI misconduct said Comey was essentially "running a covert operation against" the president...

...

In his recently published memoir, "A Higher Loyalty," Comey denied having "a counterintelligence case file open on [Trump]," though he qualified the denial by adding this was true only in the "literal" sense. He also twice denied investigating Trump, under oath, in congressional testimony.

...

[Comey] also did some online sleuthing, personally searching Trump on Google and even looking through hours of YouTube videos of him.

...

At the same time Comey was personally scrutinizing the president during meetings in the White House and phone conversations from the FBI, he had an agent inside the White House working on the Russia investigation, where he reported back to FBI headquarters about Trump and his aides, according to officials familiar with the matter. The agent, Anthony Ferrante, who specialized in cyber crime, left the White House around the same time Comey was fired and soon joined a security consulting firm, where he contracted with BuzzFeed to lead the news site's efforts to verify the Steele dossier, in connection with a defamation lawsuit.

Knowledgeable sources inside the Trump White House say Comey carved out an extraordinary new position for Ferrante, which allowed him to remain on reserve status at the FBI while working in the White House as a cybersecurity adviser.

"In an unprecedented action, Comey created a new FBI reserve position for Ferrante, enabling him to have an ongoing relationship with the agency, retaining his clearances and enabling him to come back in [to bureau headquarters]," said a former National Security Council official who requested anonymity.

"Between the election and April 2017, when Ferrante finally left the White House, the Trump NSC division supervisor was not allowed to get rid of Ferrante," he added, "and Ferrante continued working -- in direct conflict with the no-contact policy between the White House and the Department of Justice."

Through a spokeswoman at FTI Consulting, which maintains the BuzzFeed contract, Ferrante declined to comment.

Another FBI official, Jordan Rae Kelly, who worked closely with Mueller when he headed the bureau, replaced Ferrante upon his White House exit (though she signed security logs for him to continue entering the White House as a visitor while he was working for BuzzFeed). Kelly left the White House last year and joined Ferrante at FTI Consulting.

Working with Comey liaison Ferrante at the NSC in early 2017 was another Obama holdover -- Tashina Gauhar, who remains a top national security adviser at the Justice Department.

Read the whole thing, obviously.

And why is this Gauhar monster still permitted to serve in Trump's administration?

I don't know this as a fact, but a well-informed friend who has broken a lot of stories on this matter either knows, or speculates, that people like Gauhar are being kept on the payroll because the IG can only demand interviews with current government employees.

Once they've been fired, then can tell the IG to f-off with his interview demands.

So some of these people are drawing a paycheck only so long as they are needed for the IG's investigation.

Is that what's happening with this... specimen? I don't know.

Hey, remember when the media and their NeverTrump sleeper agents all shrieked as one that there was no spying going on?

What do covert spies do, if not spy?

Sounds like a death penalty case.

The GOP really falls down on failing to prosecute the Dims for this kind of criminal activity.

GOP cowardice on prosecution has led directly to having the hired help behave like leftwing activists with a certain confidence that they will never be prosecuted, no matter what.

Part of my disgust with the Stupid Party is that they must know this is true. Yet they do nothing to defend their own pols and hang the other party out to dry when they have a chance. And that only invites further aggression from the Left.

Comey should get at least 20 years for what he did. And his co-conspirators against Trump should do a decade or so along with him.

But I wouldn't hold my breath. The Cuck wing of the Republican party is has never been more cowardly. If I were Trump, I'd seriously want to order the DoJ to start a prosecution of all these named individuals and prosecute them to the maximum, just to put the bureaucrats on notice that they are not above the law when they use their offices to break the laws.

IG Horowitz is Set to Report ...

… is about to announce … will be released … soon to be revealed in a few weeks ... is ready to uncover … blah, blah, blah.

Whatever happened to good old-fashioned reporting -- you wait for the event to happen, then report on the event. That too hard for people?

Besides, if you tell me over and over again that something's going to happen, if it does happen it's old news.

I know exactly what you mean. I really distrust the vast majority of reporting full of "highly placed officials", "administration sources", etc.

I did consider that when I posted this but this article has a lot of very specific info in it. The writer's reputation will be totally trashed if this article proves to be inaccurate. He's really put his credibility on the line with this, far more so than most of these articles based on anonymous sources.

It should be … but we know it won't. By the time this information becomes public (projected to be September, 2019) and is verified, he'll be long forgotten. Whether he's right or wrong.

Besides, he writes for Real Clear Investigations. Not exactly the Wall Street Journal. Or the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

He'd be more worried about whether he could get another job in conservative media than about whether the readers would recall a bad story that didn't pan out.

I find enough detail here that I think he did get a real inside source. Or else he's making it up wholesale and is a complete fraud (which would qualify him to work for the NYSlimes).

We'll know in September. You want to make a note of it? If he was wrong, both of us will bombard him and Real Clear with nasty e-mails.

That'll really shake 'em up.

Still, he went way out on a limb here. It will likely affect his future employability.

Those details on Comey replacing his spy in the White House with a second spy in the White House is very detailed. If that and other details prove not to be true, he'll be regarded as a hack.

OTOH, you have to wonder about his source. DoJ is usually the most discreet agency about an investigation - which they are required to be - but maybe even that is no longer true even of the IG's office.

Right. So he's saying there was no "official counterintelligence case file open on Trump". Probably true. Nothing there.

Comey also did some online sleuthing, personally searching Trump on Google and even looking through hours of YouTube videos of him."

Hell, we've all done that.

Right. So he's saying there was no "official counterintelligence case file open on Trump". Probably true. Nothing there.

Not official. Official in the sense of the usual paperwork being circulated in the FBI offices or being passed up to the attorney general, no paperwork in the official files of the FBI. But they could have had a full set of 302s and agent reports prepared and kept in Comey's hands, ready to go if they could find anything they could railroad Trump with.

I think that is what they were doing. Keep in mind how much credibility the courts grant to FBI agents and their 302s. And how they never keep recordings of witness interviews. and using his spies inside the White House undercover, they also would leave little trace of what they were doing.

A coup by the FBI would be conducted exactly this way. They just never found anything in the way of hard evidence that could support bringing criminal charges against Trump. It's mostly because Trump just doesn't like or trust Russians so there was literally nothing to find which is what Mueller discovered. His only contacts with Russians were the few times he traveled there for his beauty pageants and he stayed with his entourage at the hotel during those brief trips and never engaged directly with any Russians while he was there.

Comey and Mueller were an attempted coup by the FBI to overturn the 2016 election.
