‘Yes, Gayle, the answer is yes’ Michelle Obama got personal with Gayle King on Saturday, opening about her sex life with former President Obama. CBS’s Gayle King appeared particularly interested in the former First Lady’s domestic life, and Mrs. Obama happily indulged her gossipy line on questioning, even stating she has an active sex life. "Great sex at every age,” King said to Obama, ”care to share?" "Yes, I support that principle,” Obama replied. “I mean come on, Gayle, yes." "What are you supposed to say to that?" Obama asked rhetorically. “’No, I take issue with great sex at every age!’ No!” "I agree," King added. “Yes, Gayle, the answer is yes,” Obama said unashamedly. The Obamas’ sex life was hardly the only personal topic arousing King’s interest. The CBS anchorwoman also asked Obama how she dealt with “the negativity” of media criticism during the Obama Administration. She asked about the health of her marriage with the former president, and how they have navigated rough patches through marriage counseling. King confided to Obama she’s already read her book “three times,” and then cited her favorite quote, having memorized what page number it was on. The CBS anchor’s questions often reflected her friendship with the erstwhile First Lady. “Last question: You sure appear to be living your best life, we hope you are,” King told Obama toward the event of their talk. “Are you?” And King concluded the conversation: “I speak for everyone in this Superdome when I say, [we’ll be] rooting and supporting you for the rest of our lives.” Gayle King, who anchors “CBS This Morning,” went on vacation with the Obamas shortly after they left office in 2017, something she defended as being non-political. "My vacations are not political and so I went on vacation with a great group of people and, to me, that's not a political statement,” she told Access Hollywood.
