At least Buzz's conscience couldn't allow him to continue lying. Having to live a lie for 50 years was enough.
Watch as ol' Buzz seems to want to tell all...he begins...but transitions into babbling. It suddenly occurred to Buzz how the PTB deal with those who expose the truth.
Deckard is usually spot on about most everything, how he got the exact words wrong on this one is pretty strange. It's as clear as a bell what Buzz said, how can you get "Because we haven't" out of it?

Truth. 100%.
They do absolutely lie about everything -- either outright, partially, or by omission. Just how they still have any credibility speaks to people who by necessity must psychologically "accept the world in which they are presented." I do understand it -- its self-preservation in a great sense. Going down the Rabbit Hole has its risks.
What the vast majority simply will simply NOT accept nor wrap their head around: There IS an actual "Shadow Govt" controlling and manipulating everything at ALL levels. The only group that stands in its way are and have been God-fearing, devout Christians....which is why they and their (our) values and world-view are the most targeted for a bulls-eye these days.
