President Trump said at the White House Thursday that he would soon decide how the US would respond to the downing of a US drone by Iran. “You will soon find out,” Trump said as he welcomed Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for a bilateral meeting. The two were expected to address reporters later. Tensions have been mounting over last week’s attacks on tankers near the Strait of Hormuz, assaults that Washington has blamed on Iran, which has denied the accusations. Then, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said Thursday it had shot down the RQ-4A Global Hawk drone over Iranian territory, while the US said the downing happened over international airspace in the Strait of Hormuz. The US Central Command called it an “unprovoked attack” and Trump tweeted that “Iran made a very big mistake” in shooting it down. White House officials huddled Thursday morning to discuss a response to Iran’s downing of the US Navy drone amid escalating tensions between the two countries. The Defense Department announced Tuesday it would send 1,000 more troops to the region after the US said Tehran was involved in attacking two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman last week. The deployment is part of a defensive buildup by the US that included sending the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier strike group, B-52 bombers and Patriot anti-missile defenses to Qatar.

THEY believe Iran and Trump are now caught between a rock and hard place. BUT ARE THEY? Iran was forced to shoot down a US drone whose obvious mission was to fly over Iranian territory, baiting their air defenses into shooing it down. (They believe) President Trump is now forced to "punish" Iran or risk looking "soft". Trump's reaction: "Iran made a very big mistake." The US Central Command: "[This was an] "unprovoked attack." THIS IS A LIE. Yesterday, Trump characterized the ongoing noise with Iran to be "very minor." I guess US Centcom found his de-escalating comment to be troubling to a war they desperately want/need, so they decided to force Trump's hand. (John Bolton is unavailable for comment thus far.)

I was very impressed with Trump's statements downplaying the drone attack. He also said he found it "hard to believe it was intentional." He stated during his campaign that he "...want(s) to get out of these endless wars.". I really think he means that. His advisors (Pompeo and Bolton) have been clamoring for war for quite some time - I hope Trump isn't swayed by those with a warmongering agenda.
Government is in the last resort the employment of armed men, of policemen, gendarmes, soldiers, prison guards, and hangmen. Fill up your gas tank while you still can.
Hydrogen car drivers don't need gasoline. If the US was smart, they would have gone all in on this tech since the 1980s. But the PETRODOLLAR was more important. Energy is National Security. Instead of the trillions literally WASTED on the M.E. the US could have been totally oil free. Americans watched while their treasury was pissed away on bombs and making enemies. What goes around comes back around.

Yeah, I also think he's trying to not only keep a campaign promise but to actually keep us out of a new war. I just hope they're backchanneling to the Moos that this is their one free pass, we know what they're doing and we're tired of their shit - they'll be turned to glass if they keep poking the bear. Perhaps Israel will make the "fight or die" decision and we go in to help out. Sooner or later, one way or the other, these shithead deathcultists need to die along with their entire power structure down to the janitors.
Yeah, they only need those widespread hydrogen filling stations on every corner and offramp.
How much energy did it take to haul that BS around and steam the hydrogen out. How much nasty by product was left behind, not to mention making and disposing of the batteries? They could have just burned the methane gas in an internal combustion engine or produced steam for a steam engine, and been a whole lot greener in the process, no? Too many high tech steps diddling around burning energy to manufacture hydrogen, and creating toxic byproducts, IMO. Keep it simple, stupid!

Those who are asking for more government interference are asking ultimately for more compulsion and less freedom.
