The Tennessee sheriff's detective is a pastor and delivered his sermon at the start of Pride Month earlier this month.

A Knox County sheriff's detective who is also a pastor at a local church is coming under fire for comments he made about gay people during a sermon earlier this month.

Detective Grayson Fritts refused to apologize, stating that he is only "preaching the Bible."

“I’m not an anomaly," Fritts told Knox News. "I am a Baptist preacher that is just preaching the Bible and if it offends society, then it’s going to offend society, but if all these other pastors would grow a spine … and would stand up just like I’m standing up. …”

But Knox County Sheriff Tom Spangler issued a statement that Tennessee law and the U.S. Constitution supersedes the Bible.

"I want to be very clear that it is my responsibility to ensure equal protection to ALL citizens of Knox County, Tennessee under the law, my oath and the United States Constitution without discrimination or hesitation," Spangler said. "Rest assured that I have and will continue to do so."

The sermon in question was delivered on June 2 and the video was apparently posted on the church's Youtube channel but it appears to have been removed. But several other videos remain, including one from June 9 titled "Sodomites Reprobates."

This is how the sermon was described by Knox News:

At points during a video of the sermon reviewed by the Knoxville News Sentinel, Fritts screams into the microphone, advocates for police riot teams to haul off Pride participants en masse and uses multiple slurs against the LGBTQ community.

He also targeted Christians and others who support the LGBTQ community.

Fritts referenced his law enforcement career multiple times during his sermon, first telling the congregation "such arrests and executions should be carried out by our government, not Christians," pausing for laughter as he added, "unless you're a policeman."

Fritts has worked for the Knox County government since 1999 and was named a detective of the month in 2017.

Now the Knox County District Attorney's Office said it will review all its cases that Fritts was involved in.

Sheriff Spangler said that Fritts had asked two weeks earlier to take a county buyout offer and he is now on paid sick leave until it takes effect July 19.

So he will likely continue his sermons at the All Scripture Baptist Church in Knoxville that states on its website: "Don’t expect anything liberal, watered down, or contemporary here."

Now there's an idea that has real merit. Include on spot executions of drug dealers as well. Clean up American society once and for all,.

My sentiments exactly. We should have kept homosexual acts illegal, and kept the LGTBQ's in the closet where they belong. And if they come out, then arrest them like the pastor says. He is only preaching what the Bible says for God's sake.

And we Christians, being in the majority, could easily make that happen (again) if we were to regrow a backbone and stick together on this.

WTH is wrong with you??

WHY are you feeding into this blatant "PRIDE" month Sodomite propaganda??

The Corporate Queer Media (and you) find ONE Christian Preacher who goes over the line somewhat on rhetoric and suddenly ALL Christians are portrayed as wanting to "execute" homos. At the same time, The Corporate Queer Media paints ALL homofascists as "victims of institutional and widespread Christian and Conservative persecution."

Funny...Just the other day you're rightfully exposing the homofascist-tranny public library readings to children, which are potentially corrupting their spirit and condemning their souls. Make up your mind whose side you're on.

Homofascists and liberals regularly and PUBLICLY post advocacy of murdering pre-born babies AND violence and yes, executions of Christians, Conservatives and those who oppose the homofascist agenda on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and everywhere else. WHERE are your posts (available by the dung-full) of THEM??

At points during a video of the sermon reviewed by the Knoxville News Sentinel, Fritts screams into the microphone, advocates for police riot teams to haul off Pride participants en masse and uses multiple slurs against the LGBTQ community.

Typical Drama-Queen "journalism."

Corporate Queer Reporter: "MULTIPLE Slurs". Uh-oh. Did the Preacher also toss sticks & stones at the Homos?

Boo-frickin-HOO.

HERE'S THE "Story":

FREE SPEECH LAW IS SELECTIVE. QUEERS, HOLLYWOOD, and DEMOCRATS cite "Artistic Expression" or are just ignored by this same Corporate Queer Media.

MEANWHILE...

Homos have been "slurring" the name of Jesus Christ and The Almighty with impunity, defecating, urinating and worse on Christian symbols and His servants. Those who are audacious enough to call out Queer Evil AS "Evil" are being shut down, censored, doxxed, families, employment & income threatened and lost as they become ostracised.

Vulgar, obscene Homo "Pride" and their military wing, Antifa, can publicly assault, threaten, insult, incite, coarsen, and degrade the public square...WITH IMMUNITY and IMPUNITY and LE protections and shielding. Funny how THAT is Corporate, Institutional, Gummint & LE policy in ALL Big Cities and many towns.

Any and ALL objections are considered "Hate Speech" and "Hate Laws" (blatant unequal protections & un-just applications of "Constitutional" laws that desperately need redress in the SCOTUS) targeting OTHER persons/groups who are subject to arrests, fines, vacating space, and sued for perceived/nebulous offense.

There is NO equality of Free Speech, Freedom to Associate, equality of law in ANY sense of the US Constitution. Especially not if one is White, Male, Conservative, Christian, Traditional, Logical, or Fair.

Our upside-down Cluster-Frick of a world shall only get worse. Wishy-Washy "lukewarm" Christians who cowardly straddle the moral fence in order to appear "fair" and compromise in this corrupt world will be turned back by Jesus Christ:

"Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ -- Matthew 7:22, 23

This Pastor may have gotten a bit carried away with his righteous outrage, but his principles and recognition of those corrupting millions of souls, condemning them to Hell is spot on.

It's a birth defect like any other; deserving neither harassment nor parades. Perfectly natural (Nature miswires a thing now and then) but far from normal.
If it was "normal", we'd be extinct. Leftists can't seem to grasp the distinction.

They're free to live their lives as far as I'm concerned, but I don't want them in my face. If they want to tell me how marvelous it is to be homosexual, I'll start grilling them about the impact of STDs and anal prolapse on their lives.

Government is in the last resort the employment of armed men, of policemen, gendarmes, soldiers, prison guards, and hangmen.
The essential feature of government is the enforcement of its decrees by beating, killing, and imprisoning.

Hyperbolic rhetoric that in degrees is Light Years in comparison. Straight from the Left-LBGTQ-Dem-MSM playbook.

Lol -- you're actually putting THIS rhetoric by THIS preacher on equal footing as Phelps?? That's pure bullshit.

There was quite a bit that was said by this Pastor that is 100% true. God DID wipe out Sodom & Gomorrah. And in the not too distant past, violent sodomite predators of the sons of righteously angry fathers DID deliver "justice" to these criminals of nature. GUESS WHAT?? They are STILL "criminals of nature" AND "Predators."

Moreover, where are your posts citing all the countless cases of open Queer calls for the deaths and murder of Trump and Christians?? (Oh wait -- it's GAY PRIDE Month and NOT "Christian Pride Month" or "Normal Pride Month" or "White Pride Month.")

Stop falling for and spreading this kind of "Pride Month" propaganda and hysterical over-exaggeration we've come to expect from Corporate Queer-Controlled Media.

No. He just cratered Sodom and Gomorrah.

And since we are now again immersed in the prophesied "The Days of Noah," brace yourself.

Seems to me he forgave sinners. Hate the sin, love the sinner.

One more convenient out of context excuse to leave the Sodomite be.

What *did* Jesus say?: ...Unless you repent, you too will all perish." (Luke 13:3-5), "GO AND SIN NO MORE" (John 8:11)

Sodomites are not only NOT repenting, but they are thumbing their nose at Jesus as they continue celebrating sin, grooming many into homosexuality and recruiting OTHERS into sin/death/rejecting God.

Those who aid and abet neo-Sodom and Gommorah -- do you believe God approves and blesses that position?

It's worth everyone's time to focus a bit on trying understanding some Old Testament accounts and context (which many take out of context because they discount even reading chapters/verses), and angry attitudes of God and the penalties He'd inflicted upon the disobedient and pro-Sodomites.

Yes, our God and Jesus ARE loving and can be angry, but are also forgiving to the sincerely repentant, obedient, and the humble.

Oh, so we Christians should just follow their lead?

By answering a legit question with an absurd question then misdirection is dodges the meat of the issue. I'll bet you the number of Death Threats made against this preacher will be in the thousands -- ALL of course uninvestigated and un-reported by the SAME LE, gummint agencies, and MEDIA who reported this "DEATH TO QUEERS!!" story.

It appears from some of the posts here that is exactly what we should do.

Let me ask you a question:

Were you to catch a couple of "Pride" Parade revelers smashing a little boy...who just happened to be your son or grandson -- what would be *your* reaction and instinct? Would it be, "Hate the sin, love the sinner"?

Did some looking. It's not just one preacher. Fritts is associated with the NEW Independent Fundamental Baptist "movement" (meaning fundies trying to outfundie other fundies). At least one NIFB preacher has come out publicly in support of Fritts. There are at least 30 churches in the movement. Steven Anderson would be the most visible.

Leviticus 20:13 was ordained as law NOT by man or Fritts but by God. You'll have to take it up with Him.

Q: How does one seriously compare an abomination (Sodomy) with a dietary law?

There are numerous scriptural accounts, discussions and warning on penalties for Sodomy. It is not only mentioned (54 times), but also as it is referenced negatively on numerous other occasions in Scripture.

By now, most Americans have become so indoctrinated and brainwashed by this secular-homo guided culture to accept sodomy/"gay", "gay" marriage (OR ELSE), that even Christians are willing to compromise on The Word.

Watering down, discrediting Leviticus, or cherry-picking God's entire word (purposely out of context) to supposedly give cover, give the the benefit of doubt and be "compassionate" about God's own laws as not to "offend" is now routine. Many do not even realize they've used fake quotes (EX: "Hate the sin, love the sinner.") Then again, this is by design.

Ever wonder how tolerant the Founders who established America of were of Sodomy? What was their regard of it for *their* society? (HINT: Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Webster, Jay, etal would ALL be called "Haters," "Intolerant bigots," and "Homophobes" and be banned from You Tube, Twitter, AND (ironically) banned from running for office.)

General Washington as the original Commander-in-Chief was the first not only to forbid, but even to punish, homosexuals in the military.

Because of the nature of the crime, the penalties for the act of sodomy were often severe. For example, Thomas Jefferson indicated that in his home state of Virginia, “dismemberment” of the offensive organ was the penalty for sodomy. In fact, Jefferson himself authored a bill penalizing sodomy by castration.

The laws of the other states showed similar or even more severe penalties:

"That the detestable and abominable vice of buggery [sodomy] . . . shall be from henceforth adjudged felony . . . and that every person being thereof convicted by verdict, confession, or outlawry [unlawful flight to avoid prosecution], shall be hanged by the neck until he or she shall be dead." (NEW YORK)

"That if any man shall lie with mankind as he lieth with womankind, both of them have committed abomination; they both shall be put to death." (CONNECTICUT)

"Sodomy . . . shall be punished by imprisonment at hard labour in the penitentiary during the natural life or lives of the person or persons convicted of th[is] detestable crime." (GEORGIA)

"That if any man shall commit the crime against nature with a man or male child . . . every such offender, being duly convicted thereof in the Supreme Judicial Court, shall be punished by solitary imprisonment for such term not exceeding one year and by confinement afterwards to hard labor for such term not exceeding ten years." (MAINE)

"That if any person or persons shall commit sodomy . . . he or they so offending or committing any of the said crimes within this province, their counsellors, aiders, comforters, and abettors, being convicted thereof as above said, shall suffer as felons. [And] shall forfeit to the Commonwealth all and singular the lands and tenements, goods and chattels, whereof he or she was seized or possessed at the time . . . at the discretion of the court passing the sentence, not exceeding ten years, in the public goal or house of correction of the county or city in which the offence shall have been committed and be kept at such labor." (PENNSYLVANIA)

"[T]he detestable and abominable vice of buggery [sodomy] . . . be from henceforth adjudged felony . . . and that the offenders being hereof convicted by verdict, confession, or outlawry [unlawful flight to avoid prosecution], shall suffer such pains of death and losses and penalties of their goods." (SOUTH CAROLINA)

"That if any man lieth with mankind as he lieth with a woman, they both shall suffer death. (VERMONT)

He said, "For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."

I guess we'll all just have to take from there.

Yes, I agree. Let's take it from there.

Matthew 5:17: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them."

It's all far more complicated than plucking random Biblical verses out that somehow resolve issues once and for all.

Hasn't Jesus reassured us that He came to fulfill the Law? He has also said plenty about "Abominations".

But also, "So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."

(A continuation of your citation from John -- 10, "When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?"):

11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

There's good reason Scriptures must be read and understood as a connected tapestry and not as random Chapter and Verses because they don't tell nearly the whole story or lesson.

For instance, Galatians 6:7 could well be supplemental to your quote and mine from John in Jesus admonition (and mercy) on the Levitican Law of stoning and judgement of "The flesh"; Of Galations 6:7 He says, “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.”

Related thread of this Scriptural "tapestry" of Jesus' lessons and warnings:

"But those who persist in sin should be rebuked in front of everyone, so that the others will stand in fear of sin."

1 Timothy 5:20 is exactly what is frowned upon and called "Hate-Speech!" by today's secular, homosexual-manipulated "morality."

God was doing a lot of that kind of "cleaning house" in the OT when things were getting out of hand.

Some people accuse God of being "hateful" and violent." These are the same people refuse to read, follow and understand the full OT context. Would these same people be so understanding of those who would sacrificing their babies to Baal?

...Which is why I wanted to somewhat connect context of what seemed like the frayed ends to threads in which Scripture is isolated to specific verses.

For even believers it's an effort for sure to try and make sense of an Almighty and some scripture that seemingly contradicts itself. Upon close examination, He and it doesn't. But please don't take my word for it.

Hopefully whatever the sin, we can abide in a society with a Bill of Rights and not go off the deep end as Hank takes pains to suggest.

This is not Iran.

Hank, were you pushing buttons again? lol...

To be honest I didn't see anything Hank wrote that was disagreeable or "off the deep end." What did I miss??

We *already* DON'T live in a society with fair, equal and functioning "Bill of Rights", Randge; The current 'Bill of Rights' is purposely and illegally rigged. As it stands, doesn't it flagrantly violate Hank's, yours and my Civil and constitutional "rights"?

How do "Hate Speech", "Hate Laws", Affirmative Actions, Quotas, preferential job and college scoring admissions based on political pecking order speak to ANY "Equality" at all? Why should preference and laws target SOME groups while openly and legally favoring those of OTHER of racial, gender, and "vibrant" identities?

Very good questions, and questions not open to some glib reply.

It's in our political DNA to strive for a country where we live by precepts in accord with the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th Amendments.

Human justice like human mercy are often poorly applied in practice - a fact I became keenly aware of having spent time with a man falsely condenmed to death and later exhonorated.

If we cannot make or apply law in a just way, sometimes it seems to me that perhaps we are no longer worthy.

That is crazy and evil.

So is the 'establishment' placing perverts atop pedestals then oohing and ahhhing as they prance about during their 'gay pride' parades. The government schools are filling the little skulls with how great homosexuality is. So far they've been quiet about bestiality, but that's next. If a youngster wants his puppy to have a puppy what would be wrong with trying to make it happen?

Homosexuals should remember that if their desire is to have sex with a large animal always choose the horse, that way they'll always have a ride home.

Let's face facts: homosexuals, lesbians and the rest of the sexual trash is just no damn good for a society!

Liberals are like Slinkys. They're good for nothing, but somehow they bring a smile to your face as you shove them down the stairs.
