To: Deckard (#0) (Edited) I'm sure a physics whiz will correct this humble engineer if I'm wrong; at the South Pole the pendulum would rotate in 1 day as well, but in the opposite direction. I've seen pendulum installations (Griffith Park Observatory in L.A. as I recall) where vertical dowels are set up around the perimeter of the arc each day and are knocked down in sequence by the pendulum, making the rotation obvious.
