Leigh Scott at Big Hollywood: Of course he [President Bush] had his faults, by leftist standards. He didnt send his press secretary out to attack news organizations that were unfavorable to him. He didnt bow before foreign kings and emperors. Great article looking back on President Bush and the unfair treatment heaped upon him by the MSM, the entirety of the Left, and way too many on the right.
I think, as the years go by, youll see more-and-more posts like this one. And theyll start showing up from the strangest places. Like from Liberals.
Like this article from Jeffrey Scott Shapiro, who served on John Kerrys legal team in 2004:
As Obama continues to make decisions that mirror the Bush doctrine, it is becoming apparent that the former president was not ignorant or irrational in his foreign policy decisions despite the harsh criticism and disloyalty he endured. He was in fact, ahead of his time, a visionary who understood politics and warfare in the modern age of terrorism. That is why Obama is now following his lead.
When its all said and done, history is going to be very kind to President Bush.
Barbara Mandrells classic song comes to mind, If loving you is wrong, I dont wanna be right. If Keith Olbermann, Janet Napolitano, Paul Krugman, Joe Biden and Chris Matthews are smart and George W. Bush and Ronald Reagan are idiots
.well count me in as a mouth-breathing imbecile.
I miss having my fellow simpleton in the Oval Office. The country felt safer. Morale was higher. And there wasnt this sinking feeling that freedom was being sold out to the interests of unions, community organizers, and a network of government parasites.
W. wasnt perfect. Far from it. He played good offense on national security but lousy defense on spending. He failed to stop the rising tide of big government and runaway spending.
The sad part is, that every negative policy of the Bush administration that I can think of has been continued or amped up under the Obama regime.
Of course, nobody seems to notice this. Except us knuckleheads.
So, enjoy your retirement W. We miss you. I have a sinking suspicion that your legacy of ignorance and stupidity will see a resurgence in 2012. Thats the next chance for the unwashed masses to put a dunce in the White House.
I cant wait.
Count me in as one of the knuckle-dragging mouth-breathers, too.
