Tyson Ross made a pickoff throw that sent Adrianza diving into the bag, and Cabrera pretended to toss the ball back to the mound. But he kept it and when Adrianza stood up and stepped off the base to shake away the dust, Cabrera tagged him. Is a fake punt or fake field goal not playing football? Trick plays have been a part of baseball (and all sports for that matter) since the early days.
