I bet I have wasted 3hrs just waiting for it to try to up date then fail then have to reinstall previous update! I thought by now they would have gotten it right but I guess not! This all started about mid February. Oh well I might try to figure out what they hell is going on tomorrow. I have even disabled update by going into services.msc. It keeps turning itself back on then tries to update. Wish I didn't have to use window's but im stuck! To: Justified, Willie Brown (#0) You might check your free disk space. The latest version of Win10 now grabs permanently an extra 7GB of disk space, just to use for making updates. And people have the nerve to complain that that is unnecessary and unwarranted. ArsTechnica: Windows 10 will chew up another 7GB of disk space to make sure it can update, 1/10/19 That leaves out people with smaller hard drives like Willie's machine. I think the computer is only about a year old or maybe a little more. There is something wrong with Windows 10 or when McAfee trail went out they did something. That was also about the time I started having update issues. One computer has always had issues. Windows keeps running my harddrive to check for stuff. It seems the more sophisticated the system the more it easts up memory and horsepower to do the same thing my old system did. I remember the old version you could tell it not to update until you wanted to update. Now it just keeps trying to update even when you turn it off. Now it just keeps trying to update even when you turn it off. Microsoft insists that that is a feature, not a bug. Their comprehensive involuntary updates suck much worse than their old Windows Update. I've begun to think they have an unmanageable code base but they are insisting on total corporate control of the updates they issue for your computer, whether they've conducted comprehensive testing of all major brands of Win10 machines on the market. The corporate control of your machine is the real objective, not your security and not having easier updates.
