Title: TOTAL BS: Look What The Left Wants To Do To JOHN WAYNE Airport … UNREAL

John Wayne is the latest target on the Left’s perpetual Wheel Of Outrage.

Should we really be surprised that they’d have a particular hate for an icon like John Wayne?

Seriously. He’s like Kryptonite to them. Look at some of his quotes, from his films and real life h/t Quotes:

“Screw ambiguity. Perversion and corruption masquerade as ambiguity. I don’t trust ambiguity.”

Trending: DeBlasio’s Old Lady Can’t Account For $850M Of Tax Payer Money Bill Gave Her For Her Project

I don’t want ever to appear in a film that would embarrass a viewer. A man can take his wife, mother, and his daughter to one of my movies and never be ashamed or embarrassed for going.

“A horse is a horse, it ain´t make a difference what color it is”

“Republic. I like the sound of the word”

“Out here a man settles his own problems”

“I won’t be wronged. I won’t be insulted. I won’t be laid a-hand on. I don’t do these things to other people, and I require the same from the.” The Shootist.

“I’ve always followed my father’s advice he told me, first to always keep my word and, second, to never insult anybody unintentionally. If I insult you, you can be goddamn sure I intend to. And, third, he told me not to go around looking for trouble.”

“Very few of the so-called liberals are open-minded…. They shout you down and won’t let you speak if you disagree with them.”

Now the endlessly-offended activists want to erase him from history. Starting with the airport named after him.

Last week, a columnist for the Los Angeles Times suggested that those concerned about Wayne’s legacy should take the “cancellation” one step further by removing his name from the Orange County airport in order to demonstrate that those who hold problematic opinions — even those expressed in a bygone era where they were considered acceptable — will be stripped of mentions in history.

“It’s long past the time that Wayne’s name should come down,” Michael Hiltzik writes.

…But Hiltzik isn’t so much concerned with how or why Wayne’s name has remained on the airport all these decades, just that it no longer “represents” modern Orange County.

“Orange County today is such an economically and ethnically diverse community that it’s hard to justify asking any member of that community to board planes at an airport named after an outspoken racist and homophobe, with his strutting statue occupying a central niche in front of the concourse,” he writes.

Is it because he’s the racist and homophobe they claim him to be?

We covered the story of that objection when it first surfaced here:
UNREAL: John Wayne Is Now The Focus Of The Left’s RAGE – Here’s The 411

Or is the real problem that he was an outspoken Republican from history — a point specifically mentioned in Hiltzik’s article — and they need any positive representation of Republicans scrubbed from history.

It’s kind of like how the Soviets renamed St. Petersburg to Petrograd and then Leningrad, and how the Turks converted the world’s largest Cathedral — the Hagia Sophia — to a mosque immediately after putting Constantinople (later Istanbul) to the sword.

We’re dealing with ideologues, and the simplest explanation of why they are doing this is “this is their proof of cultural conquest.”

Slow cop-hating and anti-government blog day…Eh?

It’s nice that you found an article protecting the legacy of John Wayne as a substitute.

Uh, I just did….you stupid fool.

Did you read the post? They say John Wayne was a racist. As a result the name for an International Airport, "John Wayne Airport" must come down.

Are you defending this position?

Deckard, you are good about posting links, perhaps you can best give reason to your posting this article by furnishing links showing the concern about which the author speaks….specifically, about “taking the ‘cancellation’ of John Wayne’s legacy one step further.

I have never read or heard of any such movement.

It will therefore be interesting to know if there is such a movement, and the status of it if there is, or is this just another bullshit article with the author making full use of the current practice in fake news logic that increasing accords recognition to an abductive, presumptive or plausible hypothesis in order to to get assistance and support for his agenda.

Today’s snowflakeTards are as intolerant of what others say and think as a Paultard on a political blog. Those SnowflakeTards only want their fear monger propaganda put out there to keep the sheeple compliant with libtard AGENDA... just like you drug loving forum Paultards.

I say fuck the Snowflakes and the Paultards. Cop loving, drug and POTATO hating speech should be tolerated... even if you don’t like it.

The airport name should stay

Yes.

Specifically who is “they” of whom you refer to that say the name must come down?
Are you defending this position?
That’s a very stupid question under the circumstances.

But to answer it anyway, I say that I don’t need to.

It would be total waste of time.

But I would defend John Wayne’s legacy in any way I possibly could…if I were ever called to do so.

I don’t need to defend this position because this failed asinine name change attempt has been pointlessly futile since it was started well over 11 years. I remember reading about it as early as 2008.

This long-time “sterile” effort has been completely incapable of producing any useful result. In other words, it is pointless to defend something that is not happening and never will. My time is too valuable to waste on such a nonsensical effort.

Eleven years of failure and still trying.

Some folks just have too much time on their hands.

They are probably libertarians, ya think?

I will not ask your position on this.

Simply because I don’t give a shit to hear about anything you may have to say.

I post articles on a variety of topics - not all of them are stories that upon reading them make you whine like a little girl, but apparently even this innocuous article couldn't keep you from immediately turning to childish insults.

They say John Wayne was a racist. As a result the name for an International Airport, "John Wayne Airport" must come down.

Specifically who is “they” of whom you refer to that say the name must come down?

While only "they" can identify who "they" are, and seem unwilling or unable to do so, what John Wayne said is readily quotable. It may add some context to what "they" claim about John Wayne.

John Wayne, May 1971 issue of Playboy:

[Excerpt]

PLAYBOY: Angela Davis [a Communist professor in the San Francisco Bay Area] claims that those who would revoke her teaching credentials on ideological grounds are actually discriminating against her because she’s black. Do you think that’s true?

WAYNE: With a lot of blacks, there’s quite a bit of resentment along with their dissent, and possibly rightfully so. But we can’t all of a sudden get down on our knees and turn everything over to the leadership of the blacks. I believe in white supremacy until the blacks are educated to a point of responsibility. I don’t believe in giving authority and positions of leadership and judgment to irresponsible people.

[Excerpt]

PLAYBOY: But isn’t it true that we’re never likely to rectify the inequities in our educational system until some sort of remedial education is given to disadvantaged minority groups?

WAYNE: What good would it do to register anybody in a class of higher algebra or calculus if they haven’t learned to count? There has to be a standard. I don’t feel guilty about the fact that five or 10 generations ago these people were slaves. Now, I’m not condoning slavery. It’s just a fact of life, like the kid who gets infantile paralysis and has to wear braces so he can’t play football with the rest of us. I will say this, though: I think any black who can compete with a white today can get a better break than a white man. I wish they’d tell me where in the world they have it better than right here in America.

PLAYBOY: Many militant blacks would argue that they have it better almost anywhere else. Even in Hollywood, they feel that the color barrier is still up for many kinds of jobs. Do you limit the number of blacks you use in your pictures?

WAYNE: Oh, Christ no. I’ve directed two pictures and I gave the blacks their proper position. I had a black slave in The Alamo, and I had a correct number of blacks in The Green Berets. If it’s supposed to be a black character, naturally I use a black actor. But I don’t go so far as hunting for positions for them. I think the Hollywood studios are carrying their tokenism a little too far. There’s no doubt that 10 percent of the population is black, or colored, or whatever they want to call themselves; they certainly aren’t Caucasian. Anyway, I suppose there should be the same percentage of the colored race in films as in society. But it can’t always be that way. There isn’t necessarily going to be 10 percent of the grips or sound men who are black, because more than likely,10 percent haven’t trained themselves for that type of work.

A kid swallowed all the Scrabble letters. Now his poop shows more intelligence than a libertarian.

Thank you for your enlightening post.

I can see that his comments were politically incorrect but never as hard core as I can see some KKK member would make. While I like and admire John Wayne I must truthfully say that solely on what I’ve read in your post here and from other sources I could consider him somewhat ignorant but fair minded on this subject. If I were to judge him, I could lean to him being slightly moderate racist at that time while carefully considering that interview was fifty years ago and in a very different time era. With all due consideration I therefore don’t see any underlying malice and I feel we’ve all become more educate on the subject since those days. Consequently, based on all of the careful research and following careful consideration, I can form no justification to change the name of the airport.

How about you?

The liberal left has propagated the populace into thinking its racist to speak fact or talk about or erect a statue of history.

If I say, in my humble opinion, Jennifer Aniston is better looking than Whoopi Goldberg, I’d be called a racist. It’s fact. We ain’t all pleasant to look at... we ain’t all equal. We never were. The libs started the race war indoctrination of today through the lie of EQUALITY and over sensitivity (compassion).

Its why I loath weakness.
