As seen by their common dress code, they're unified. When my wife asked me, "Unified for what?", I told her I didn't have a clue. And I guess the MSM didn't know either since they didn't say.
Trump didn't mention the shutdown. But he should have. He should have said the shutdown is over and every federal employee received 100% of their back pay for the time they stayed home, drank beer and watched TV. So, obviously, they should have no complaints about the government-funded vacation (and silently hope for another one come February 15th). Unlike in the private sector when employees are laid off -- they get zero back pay. If they return at all.
I have a solution for funding the wall: Both sides should agree to give the Border Patrol $10 billion and tell them to spend it as they see fit to secure our southern border. Trump did something similar with Defense Secretary Mattis against ISIS and it worked. Win-win. Trump gets his wall and Pelosi can claim she didn't specifically fund it.
