Michigan Democrat lobs expletive at US president hours after being sworn in as first-ever Palestinian-American in Congress (Muslim Bitch) Hours after being sworn in as the first-ever Palestinian-American to serve in Congress, Michigan Democrat Rashida Tlaib used an expletive to describe US President Donald Trump and vowed to push for his impeachment. Speaking at an event organized by progressive group MoveOn, Tlaib recounted a conversation she had with her son. “‘Momma look you won. Bullies don’t win,'” she said he told her. “And I said, ‘Baby they don’t, because we’re going to go in there and impeach the motherfucker,” Tlaib continued to applause. There was no immediate response from Trump, who is known for taking to Twitter to hit out at critics. Placing her hand on a Quran that once belonged to Thomas Jefferson, Tlaib was sworn in earlier Thursday. Together with Minnesota’s Ilhan Omar, Tlaib, an outspoken activist-cum- politician from Michigan, was one of the two first Muslim women to enter Congress Thursday, among dozens of freshman lawmakers who are helping make the 116th Congress the most diverse one in the nation’s history. Tlaib, whose parents are from the West Bank village of Beit Ur al-Fauqa, where much of her family still lives, is one of the first-ever lawmakers to support the anti-Israel boycott movement. She also says she supports a one-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and has called for cutting US aid to Israel. A reporter in Tlaib’s office on Thursday noted the world map hanging on her wall with a minor change. On top of Israel was a post-it note that said “Palestine.” It’s not clear who put the note up, whether it was a guest or an official from Tlaib’s office. Sarsour is best known as one of the leaders of the Women’s March, which has recently been roiled with accusations of anti-Semitism, with one activist recently telling The New York Times she was pushed out of the movement and that her Jewish identity was a cause for her ejection. During her swearing in, Tlaib wore a Palestinian gown called a thobe. Tlaib had written in Elle magazine that she would wear the thobe for her mother, who had to stop school in the eighth grade and become a tailor. Unless Pelosi stops them, the Democrats in the House will probably impeach President Trump, just like the Republicans impeached President Clinton. And just as was the case with Clinton, the American people will react by strengthening the Republicans. Clinton could not run for a third term, but if he could have, he would have beaten "W" handily. He left office very popular. If you impeach a President against the will of the American people, you pay for it dearly in the end.

Well, our divergent views here can only be resolved by time. I expect that Trump will hang tough on the government shutdown and use the military to start building the Wall - that this is the olive branch he'll offer the Democrats to let them out of their trap. I expect that Pelosi and Schumer will take that deal and the government will re-open, but that some other Democrat out there will rush before a Democrat federal judge to get an injunction blocking the military from working on the wall, and that, given the nature of our judiciary, the Democrat judge will grant the injunction. So Trump will be stopped for awhile, again, while the case moves up through the appeals courts. Pelosi won't move on impeachment. Schumer can't. And then we will be in the 2020 election cycle and the People will decide, again. If the People re-elect Trump, as they very well might, there will be no stopping him in his second term.
This isn't about "building a wall" there will be no wall. The US-Mexico border is about 2,000 miles of which, about 1,000 is on land and 1,000 is the Rio Grande river. The most recent "proposal" is directed toward the 1,000 miles of land. Currently there are about 700 miles of this border that has some form of barrier - vehicle or pedestrian - mostly "fencing" About $1.6 Billion has been budgeted for repairs, and construction of an additional 124 miles of "fencing". About 94% of this funding has been budgeted, however the vast majority has not been spent because no work has been done. (not really a priority is it?) Since the current administration took office, no new fencing, barriers, or "walls" have been constructed. At this pace, the Army Corp of Engineers will complete far less than even half of the work that has already been budgeted, and will complete even less new fencing. None of this has anything to do with border security, or safety, or stopping the flow of drugs, people, or anything else.
