The store, XHale City in Tucker, Georgia, posted on Facebook late Friday an announcement of the clerk’s firing: “To our friends and customers,” it read. “Tonight, we had an employee act improperly toward a customer. Xhale City does not tolerate this kind of behavior from its employees. When we identified the employee at fault, we fired him immediately. We’ve also spoken to the customer and apologized. We value our clients and treat them with respect and dignity, regardless of their political views.
Like the, "bake the gay wedding cake!" case, the person behind the counter can refuse service to anyone for no reason at all. But the clerk was an ahole in this case, so he did not serve his employer fairly either. FIRED!
Those are two separate issues. The "bake the gay wedding cake" refusal was a first amendment freedom of religion case. But refusing service to anyone for no reason at all (which I agree should be allowed) has been ruled unconstitutional under the Commerce Clause, given that the refusal interferes with interstate commerce.
If the pothead hippie socialist Trump hating asshole (kinda like Dicktard) owned the shop, I’d be on his side for asking the customer to leave (for any reason), and refusing the sale. Since he wasn’t obviously the owner, he needs to DO HIS JOB AND DO IT PROFESSIONALLY... as a cashier in sales, that’s fucking SELL, to all, unless the owner tells you otherwise. He was only in the wrong because: 1) He physically assaulted a customer 2) He acted outside of the scope of the business owners mission 3) He was extremely unprofessional
