Former First Lady Michelle Obama caused a stir during her arena book tour on Saturday when she said that marriage inequality can’t be solved by women ‘leaning in’ because ‘that s*** doesn’t work all the time.’ Obama made the comment during her appearance Saturday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, where a large crowd of thousands came to see her promotional appearance for her memoir, Becoming. Michelle and former President Barack Obama each have been working on memoirs this year, for which they negotiated a $65million dollar deal with Crown Publishing Group/Penguin Random House. His book is expected in 2019.

I should have viewed that video before posting it. It is the most nonsensical, inane piece of drivel I've heard in a long time. She doesn't know what she's saying and neither do we.

I don't hate any of them. I rather like the Obamas, actually. I think they did a good job with their kids, and didn't bring real scandal to the White House. Bill and Hillary certainly were naughty boy and girl, but Clinton always had a good sense of humor that offset and bitterness I might have had towards him, and it's some of Hillary's policies I disagree with. I don't hate her as a human being. I write this knowing full well that it will provoked some of you to say something insane, and that's my point. If you've got to reply to somebody saying that he doesn't hate some people with a wild spew of hatred, you're not right in the head. These people are political rivals, on some things (I expect that if we went down a whole litany of policies we would find agreement on a great many things). That doesn't make them enemies of humanity, in my book. In every legal case, there's a lawyer on the other side, usually intelligent, usually working in diametric opposition to everything I'm doing. S/he is certainly an adversary, but not perforce an enemy.

Served in a couple of wars, and felt that what I was doing was justified and necessary. In war, in combat, and in police actions, I am quite bloody-minded: I want to see the enemy dead. Dresden and Hamburg, Nagasaki and Hiroshima, Sherman's March, even Waco - these actions seem justified to me.
