Published on Nov 17, 2018 The Daniel Best suicide is very suspicious indeed. Was he about to shed some light on the secret goings on in the Pharmaceutical community that they simply did not want out to the public.?
But one thing remains a mystery: whether hell advocate for his former colleagues in the PBM world, or if, in the words of a lobbyist, hell show the public where the bodies are buried.
Here's the thing about explosive secrets: if you have them, and you are a do- gooder, you cannot play the game of "I've got a secret". You cannot leverage your secret for power or wealth. When you reveal your secret, understand, you will be destroyed: whistleblowers are always destroyed. They never profit.
BUT if you have a secret, you have a much greater chance of LIVING if you DUMP EVERYTHING ONTO THE NET and broadcast ALL OF IT - the dirtiest secret, the juiciest bit FROM THE BEGINNING.
It seems to make sense to dribble it out, to hold back the best, to stay "relevant" and keep being the center of attention.
But if you're dealing with the greatest and deadliest secrets, that will get you dead. There is an incentive to run the risk of a murder if silencing you will save billions or save power, etc.
On the other hand, if the horse is already out of the barn, and all of the damage has been done, out loud, in public, then the people exposed will be mad at you, but they will have a whole host of other problems - lots of people snooping attacking, investigating. You can't do them any more damage, and if you end up dead, they are immediately suspect number 1 - and people are already looking at them.
You do not play the game of threat and counterthreat. If you're little and they're big, the only play that can protect you is Pearl Harbor. Then you may well get away with your life...which you will live in poverty - nobody will give you major employment after that.
So, if you're a boy scout who has to write wrongs and blow whistles, you'd better vote for social welfare, because you're going to need it.
